Have to agree. I am kind of shocked that no other local brewery has pulled off a coconut stout near the level of Prop 13. It's been 5 years.

It took years to replicate BCBS, it took years to replicate BCBS vanilla, we should be seeing a good coconut one soon.

 

Not that I'd put it near the level of Prop 13, but last year's Vlad Coconut is awesome. It was a bit intense when it was fresh, but a few months in the cellar did wonders - I cracked one over the weekend and it was fantastic.

 

Coconut Vlad is off/infected. I've had two bad bottles and so have friends.

 

Sucks to hear that, it must just be certain bottles. As I stated previously, I just opened one over the past weekend and it was drinking great.

 

I am in BloNo, but unless you can make the events and drink on premise, it's not like you can get a bottle of something to take home and try. For now, I can only read of it from festival reports. I am looking forward to that day (for non-Dam Builders)...

 

I've been telling friends my prediction:
Vanilla this year, coconut next year, Rare 2020.

 

Projected 1000th person (final allotment) in line:

Vanilla: 1am
Coconut: 3am
Rare: 5am

 

I'll reply when I have something really good. Promise it won't be at 6am, just waking up, still in bed.
