Clearing out inventory? After all, the labels state "Develops In The Bottle Up To 5 Years". In this litigious era, no reason to give any opportunity for lawsuit chasers I suppose.

 

Does it mean bottles are popping up? Random toppings?

I’m trying to get clarity on what it means exactly.

 

I called my local (Skokie) Binny's this AM. He explained that some Binny's in the western suburbs got a drop of 2013 regular yesterday. He said that these western Binny's use a different distributor than Skokie/many of the other ones do.

So for those who know about which stores use which distributors - you may be able to piece it together - all I know is nobody by me got any :-)

 

Naperville binnys received some.

 

2013 bottles have been dropping at a few Binny's and some bottle shops (Prestige in Westmont and JP Liquors in Naperville).

 

Are places selling 4 packs or singles? What’s cost?

 

A small amount of 2013 regulars we're distro'd to Binny's and some smaller liquor stores.

 

When I stopped at Prestige on Friday he told me the price but I blacked out from the outrageousness of it and dont remember exactly what he said... $23.99/bottle maybe?

 

That's pretty hefty.

Again, total BC fanboy, but normally $20ish is what I have always cut my price at for trading. I can hack $15ish, and $20 is pushing it, but north of $25 after tax? That's pretty rough.

 

It was 18.99 when I went to Prestige.

Distributor has probably been sitting on this stuff for forever and is just clearing out warehouse space. There's a reason none of it ever shows up outside of the Lakeshore Bev distro area

 

Has anyone had any infection issues with 2017 BCBW? Just opened a bottle and it fizzed like crazy and tastes similar to a 2015...

 

I just had one recently (2 weeks ago?) and no issues. Tasted so beautifully I wanted another.

Not seen anything or heard any issues from friends, or anyplace else.

 

Yeah, I feel like I'm going crazy because I can't find any other similar reviews. Could it have been an issue with this particular bottle?

 

I am no expert, but that would be my guess.

Because of the infection issue in 2015, there's a number of one-off posts like this actually scattered throughout BA - both in this thread and in the general beer talk subforum.

In the other cases, it's been more similar to:

Guys, i drank this BCBBW last night. Mostly on an empty stomache. Then Had pizza. Got really sick afterward. the BCBBW tasted a little off. Has anyone seen any infection reports?

However, I don't think I've seen any mentioning a fizzing or the taste being off. In all the other circumstances, the posters ended up admitting that it was probably something else.

There was a lot of talk about "fizzy" BCBCS (and to a lesser extent, BCBS) in a "BCBCS infection 2017" thread that got a lot of posts, but otherwise lead to nothing more than "BCBCS 2017 is not infected". Some people thought they had some "off" bottles, but nothing pervasive. Again, nothing for BCBBW though. Oh, and the "fizz" has been reported as being normal, FWIW.
