Any time there's a big tap takeover somewhere, it's a shame that Big John doesn't show up on the list. Some vintage bottles show up occasionally at one of my local pubs, and I always spring for it because it's delightful.

I remember buying a bottle at Beer Temple on Super Bowl Sunday a few weeks/months after they opened.

I drank it during the game and thought to myself “I should load up on this next year”.

For what it is worth to everyone, I am drinking my first 2015 BCBS (non-infected date). Tastes great. Definitely in the "vintage" category in terms of how it compares to 2014/13/12. Interested to see how 2016 and 2017 taste next year.

15 non infected was great. I liked it much better than 16 or 17.

    My thoughts as well.

Of course, the first time I had a '16, I thought it was quite different than many months later when I had a 17 followed soon by a 16. I thought they were very similar at that point. So, I am interested to see how 16 continues to evolve. My only real complaint about the 16/17 vs 15 and older is that the smoke/char/chocolate malt flavors are a bit stronger than I would prefer. To me, the Bourbon almost takes a back seat. By comparison, the 15 has everything melding perfectly together into the bourbon soaked brownies that I get and love when drinking the older vintages.

Oh, and I might as well get this rumor mill started:

Anyone else thinking about why we have not heard anything about BC 2018? I am assuming that after the problems last year with the BW Reserve, and in prior years with certain variants receiving labels but never heading to the market, that they are:
    1) Trying to make sure that whatever they release as coming out...actually comes out
    And
    2) They might be tasting through a couple variants they made and seeing how it all worked out (maybe even after bottling), before deciding which they will fully bottle and release.

    Discuss!

They typically announce the variants in August. [/DISCUSSION]

GI has a new president and this was from a noel article so he could be "tweaking":
"In addition to 16-ounce cans, Ahsmann plans to tweak the approach to Goose Island’s high-end portfolio, for its family of heralded whiskey barrel-aged Bourbon County beers and beyond. He declined to specify changes for Bourbon County other than to say he sees “lots and lots of runway” for growth."

Really not really: They are trying to figure out how to best announce the new variants with Toronto, Pittsburgh and Chicago each getting their own unique Prop in their market... they have previously stated they wanted to do this, we'll see if this is the year...

We already have a label for regular going into 16.9oz bottles. BUT i've been wondering if the variants wont go into 12oz bottles with a similar design to the barrel house series beers.

Anything as long as they stop using the current bottles they are using, cannot stand the look.

This may be common knowledge but, why those other two markets?

I actually thought it was Philly, not Pittsburg, where they opened a new brewing facility/taproom. I did not remember Toronto being the other - I was thinking NY. But maybe tht's just because I know they have. Brew/bottling location there.

Some of this all washes together for me.

    Whoops. Yes, Philly not Pittsburgh.

They had previously stated they wanted each place that had a brewpub to have a unique Prop to honor that city/region's supporters like they do in Chicago. When and if that ever happens we won't know, but I would imagine if they do it would be solely the US or North American locations.

That would be ideal. Like the BCBCS from 2013-2014. Four packs.

Plus by my stupid math isn't VR about due again? 2010-2014-2018?

I don't think it would be in 4 packs. Just another way to stretch the variants so more people get them.
