Sams Club definitely gets regular BCBS. Each location varies with how many cases they get but I've never heard of any of them getting variants. I'm not holding my breath but maybe that will change this year. I've got a "Sams guy" and that's where I've gotten all my regular for the last 2 years. The bottles are also a buck or 2 cheaper than Binnys.

 

Anyone know more about these Jewel Bourbon County events? Is it that they will have variants, and a snifter for the first 50 people that makes it an event? Will there be tastings? Will there be clowns? People would like to know.

 

Last year there was nothing special except the snifter, and maybe they have more inventory of variants than other stores.

 

I would ask someone, but I don't recall ever seeing an actual employee in the beer section at my Jewel. I kind of assume the shelves get stocked by elves overnight.

Before people ask, it's an "event" store and I go about once a week, usually breezing through liquor.

 

Just once we need a massive blizzard at 12:01am on Black Friday. Could you imagine if Binny's couldn't open for another day and all the line campers got totally screwed? Anyone driving from out of state couldn't make it in to the city. It would be glorious.

 

On the topic of Jewel...they're apparently getting CBS in December, as well.

If you had told me a couple years ago, while I was drinking my first and only glass of CBS (on tap at Binny's) that in 2017 people would be debating whether to buy beers like BCS and CBS from Binny's or Jewel, I'd have asked you where your delorean was.

 

Last year the "event stores" had lots of extra staff on hand you walked up and they asked if you wanted a full allotment then passed you a pre filled carrier and you went to the register. Very quick

 

Last year, you couldn't get 1 of each variant at jewel, correct? Or maybe limits varied by store? I forget....

 

Has anyone been to the release at Binny’s on Grand? Wondering what time people start lining up and if they get many variants.

only specific stores had all the variants. the way i read that announcement is that the 8 event stores will have the most on hand, but those with asterisks you'd assume have SOME of each variant. Seems like a crapshoot though at the non-event stores and I'm surprised Ashland is not one of the event stores after being one last year.

So is it safe to say that if my neighborhood Jewel is not listed, they will not get any BCBS at all? I live by the Jewel on 53rd and Pulaski and I do not see it on the list.

 

I would say yes. Although you might want to call to confirm.

 

I wonder if the snifter is the same as the one from Prop Day.

 

Wtf...not even doughnuts? ....They really want to make it an "event" open that chicken wing bar up for free....

 

Those spicy wings are addictive!

 

My friend thinks those wing zings are too salty, and I can eat a damn bucket to myself. I love them, and even if they just gave out a 6 piece for free I would go to this "event."

 

A free 6 piece would alter my black Friday plan.....
