Going off some of the comments on the Jewel info page, it seems the variants are all over the place.
My jewel has an asterisk on it but will only be getting regular and bw. I'll play it safe and just head to Binnys.

I'd say the lows are more appropriate than the highs for the crazies spending the night in line

You'd have to pay me to camp outside in these conditions. Terrible.

I may be secretly wishing for poor weather to drive away some of the crowds. If anything, I would prefer it not to rain, though.

A high of 21 and snow didn't stop hoards of people from lining up at HA for Benthic. I'm afraid there is no weather that will keep the Chicago craft beer consumers away.

Agreed. Might stop their wives, though.

I'm firmly in the camp of anything but rain, please. If it's going to be a mess of people one way or the other, might as well be dry.

Would it stop the "mule moms" currently flooding beer releases? (See Half Acre thread for reference)

This is exactly what I was thinking, even moreso than just the wives/significant others. I am sure there are a certain population of people that are interested in BCBS, but will only go if things align they way they want them (e.g. weather, line being a certain length, etc.).

How long do you think the line would have been without the snow and cold? It certainly would have been a longer line (which I don't think was that bad honestly - not sure anyone really complained about how the line was).

This is an argument I always get into with my buddies. I believe that, excepting White Sox fans, that everyone in Chicago is a Cubs fan and they bandwagon all the other teams.

Can anyone chime in on approx. how long it will take to get from Midway to LP? (Fastest possible route, whether that be train, uber, etc).

My fiance and I are flying in from Cleveland and land at 7 am (BCBS is her favorite beer on the planet...seriously). Obviously hoping to make it early enough to LP to get a ticket... but if that's gonna take too long and be out of the question, opinions on a better place to go would be great.

As much as I'm still hopeful we'll be able to try all the variants, the biggest want on her part is Reserve and '16 BW. For me, really hoping to get a Prop as well, so again, any advice on our best chance to land those would be really appreciated.

Aside from waiting all morning for bottles somewhere, we'll be in the city until Sat night at 11pm, so suggestions on good tap events in the area would be awesome as well.

    Thanks!

Google Map's say's its about 30 minutes away. Uber will be the best and quickest option. However, I don't think anyone here can guarantee you'll be able to get an allocation by the time you arrive (let's say 8:00 a.m.). People last year were still getting tickets at 9:00 a.m., but its all a toss up this year.

As for trying the beer on tap. Your best bets are Goose Island Clybourn. Day of they'll be tapping all variants at different times. Also, Goose Fulton taproom would be another option to try some of this year's BCBS.

    Good luck and god speed.

Everyone is certainly a Bears fan (mostly because we have no other choice). But I would drop them like a bad habit if the city ever got a 2nd NFL team, like what was potentially proposed as part of the 2016 Olympics Plan (RIP). New stadium repurposed for NFL after the Olympics.

The basic argument that everyone not a white sox fan is a Cubs fan in Chicago is a tough one. I'd concede that there's X% of real Cubs fans. Subtract the White Sox fans, and you've got either a) people that grew up out of town and root for say the red sox or b) "Chicago" fans (which is a true cop out). I think it's the "Chicago" fans you refer to here, and those I'd argue are the worst sports fans in this city.

I have strong opinions on this, but we all have our flaws.

To provide an actual service to the topic of this thread though I leave you with Sheffield's Black Wednesday BCBS 17 tapping event, for those still in the city on Wednesday evening next week: http://www.sheffieldschicago.com/20...017-release-wednesday-november-22nd-from-6pm/
