What time do I need to be at a jewel store to get a prop in Chicago on sat morning?

 

If you have to ask, you're already too late.

Joking aside, it depends on the Jewel as for whether or not it'll even have Prop but assuming it does, you probably need to be there by 5-6am (but YMMV of course).

 

Not sure, but be sure you are going to a store that is getting prop.

 

Are people still camping out overnight in line? I thought that was extremely dangerous given the increasing packs of wild coyotes roaming the city....

So, is there a line yet or not at LP Binny’s? I gotta admit that I’m a bit let down if there isn’t a line yet.

 

Last year it didn't start until about 10-11am Central.

 

For some reason I had it in my head that last year was the same as 2015, when someone lined up on Wednesday around 6 pm. I’m still disappointed, but a Lions victory today would erase that.

I just read on the Jewel BC Blog that stores have been advised to limit sales to 1 case of BCBS per person.

Sounds like there will be A LOT to go around this year. Those limits would have been unheard of last year.

 

You could buy a case at least in the past two years. Not necessarily on Black Friday, but you could when the second drop hit.

 

The Jewel I hit at 8am last year sold me 5 regular. I was surprised by that. Full disclosure, I asked for the empty box to keep them in

 

I went to a Jewel release in the burbs two years ago. There were people there at 6 AM.

 

My Jewel didn’t even have regular at 8am so the store matters. I think that list of CBS events for The Jewel could be a nice cheat sheet for figuring out which suburban stores are more likely to have variants in any amount

 

I saw limits of 2 at Jewel last year. On Black Friday that is. One store had limit 4 or more, since I saw a guy walking out with 4, but he had nabbed the last of em.

 

Yeah, there was me and another Ba there just before 8. Both of us had that look in the eye, so we figured out pretty quick we were there for the same reason. The woman that worked the dept knew exactly why we were there. She had it locked up in back. Then her and another employee started this discussion in front of us about how many we could each buy. They decided 5 was fair. We promptly agreed, paid, and left. It was pretty entertaining. They told us this story about how the regional manager came in earlier in the week and spoke to them specifically about rules with BCBS. Apparently someone there was fired in 2015 for selling it to friends pre-Black Friday.

 

Next year, I'm filling out a job application at Jewel for "Holiday Help."

 

Worked there for many years growing up. Wouldn't recommend it. Thanksgiving and Christmas are brutal. People are monsters.

 

There have always been places that give out a whole case of regular. This is nothing new.
