Again, once people have a wristband, why are they standing outside?

 

Normally I'd ask the same, but it seems like people...enjoy...this shit?

Sitting outside in the cold on a Holiday?

 

Integrity? Kind of like asking why more people don’t cut in line.

 

Was it stated that people needed to stay in line once they had a wristband? Are they doing multiple check-in's throughout the night?

 

In 2013 they handed out tickets and then told everyone they could go warm up in their cars.. go get breakfast etc... and then just show up 15 minutes before open. The tickets were numbered so you had to line back up in order. Wasn’t really a big deal.

 

Tickets were handed out about an hour before open though.

 

It’s the integrity thing. But if it rains, integrity will be out the window.

 

Sure but as long as you got your ticket who cares if you stand in line all night.

 

I wish it were raining. Other than not having a "no exit" policy, it sounds like they've got a handle on things.

 

They did say in their blog to stay in line (bold emphasis mine). But experience says some people are not good at listening.

 

What does integrity have to do with it? If you have a numbered wristband it’s not like you would be cutting anyone. Your place in line is secured at that point.

 

You're missing the point. People had to wait in line all night to get their ticket. And because tickets didn't go out until the morning, there was no opportunity to get out of line and back in (because their was no second ticket).

So... just hand out the tickets earlier and let people go sleep in a bed.

 

Your place in line is secured, but you still need a second ticket to buy the beer. Which you don't have until 5am. So there is an incentive to get their extra early to get your wristband, then go warm up and be back just in time to get your ticket.

 

And what is wrong with that? You don’t deserve to spend $250 on beer unless you suffer in the cold all night?

Where’s the hype in doing that? I could just see the news station coverage: “Look at this sea of nearly 1,000 shitty camping chairs from Costco. In a few short hours, they will be occupied by people who will wait for their chance to buy $250 worth of beer.”
