I don’t post here often, but this is pure hypocrisy. Where’s the outrage about the blantant disregard for the posted rules (open containers, open flames, trash everywhere)?

    A. Someone who used to be moderately active on these boards, but took a little break from the scene/chase for awhile. Also got hit with life pretty hard the past few months but started lurking a little in the past couple weeks and had severe FOMO about the seemingly infinite number of fantastic beers (literally couldn't keep up after the brief hiatus) being released on our area and HAD to jump back in for the madness.

    And

    B. Someone who may or may not have had a sibling leave a suburban Whole Foods for a new job in the last two weeks.

Agreed that beer lines are Superfund sites but if I'm a Binny's employee my focus is on ensuring wristbanding, bundles are prepped, POS all working and getting these lunatics the fuck out of the parking lot.

They're not these people's mothers. I'm 100% confident they don't get paid enough to argue with BCBS campers about whose cheeseburger wrapper was this?!!?!?

I've been told from multiple spots that there is a prop drop this week. I'm pretty sure I heard the same thing last year so i don't know how reliable that is, but I'm keeping an eye out.

I was right there with you. Got there 10-15 minutes before open and got in the proper "line". Then as more filled in, it was apparent there was no longer a "line" and once they let people in it was a mad dash. And of course I was in "line" at the other side of the cart area. I strolled in thinking meh...all of these people are surely here for TV's and not beer. Wrong! I did thankfully end up with Prop and Vanilla like you, but saw people with multiple of all of the others. Also I watched a dude with a nice stack of all variants go out to his car. I sat at the food bar getting some grub and saw him go out a bit later with another stack. Only thing I can imagine is he grabbed multiples and stashed them somewhere else in the store, then came back for them. I was primarily there for the lower priced regular so it was a nice bonus to end up with two variants, but I wish I had snagged an extra MO and CBW so I wasn't going home with just the single from LP. Also wish I had hit up a Jewel or two seeing now all of the variants available.

To pick on Gibspeed a bit more  since he mentioned it....that poor gal working at Dunkin. Only one working and line out the door starting at 4am. Yeah....the app ordering screwed everyone in line. Those obviously took precedence so the line would stop moving for 15 minutes as she filled app orders. Kind of not complaining since it was much warmer waiting in that line than the LP lot. But a quick trip to Dunkin turned into not such a quick trip. We all stood there saying we should just order from the app from the line. But concluded it would be a dick move to order from the app when there were so many people waiting in "line".

It does seem weird that Whole foods has put out no information yet.

Someone eventually has to clean all that crap as soon as the lunatics are gone, though. I agree, though, that it's clearly just not a priority and seems to be a "cost of doing Black Friday" business that they've decided is acceptable. The way to cut down most of the trash would be to actually not allow drinking.

DesPlaines Jewel only has WW left. About 6-7 cases. They do have Vanilla, MO and regular on draft though.

Have they ever really "officially" put out information in years past? I'm just a cranky old guy that actually visits the stores and asks them about it, though, so what do I know. I've confirmed with my local WF locations what they will be doing on Friday.

    Hi All,

Anyone know where I can still find draft variants in downtown? Any Jewell Oscos in the city still have draft?

    Thanks!

Are we sure this is legit though? This is a picture of a laminate (why is it laminated?) from the back room of a Whole Foods (allegedly).

You'd probably be best just traveling a little bit out of downtown and going to the taproom on Fulton.

I can't wait to head up to Central Waters next fall so I can run up on the crowd of Chicagoans begging people in the charity run to sell them their bottle of Black Gold. I talked to a guy in a BCBS line this weekend who claimed a friend left CW with 40 [yes FORTY] bottles of BG. I'll hold out print-offs of some of the more pearl-clutching posts in this thread and tell them to go shitlord back in FIBLand since that is apparently the appropriate response?

Just sayin' if I was traveling from a distance from out of town with the stated intention of stocking up, I would stock up. BTW, my vanload of mules can't wait to roll into town for that next Rev release in a couple weeks. Got our disguises and McLovin IDs all ready to go...

I mean yeah, you should give them exactly the same response, if that's how you feel about it. You act like you're going to run into the exact same people complaining in this thread; if you do, hell yeah they deserve the same shit they're posting here.

Exactly. Are those out-of-staters buying a lot of limited beer? Yes. They are also paying tolls on our highways, renting hotels in our city, frequenting our small business owned restaurants, etc. I for one am grateful for the financial contribution the out-of-staters make when they attend releases here. The way our politicians spend money in this state we need a Black Friday every Friday.
