I had norovirus for that one, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance.

Yeah, I saw this transaction in person. Kid was probably in the 15-16ish range.

Regardless of the discussion over the last day or so, let's not lose sight of the fact that this year was run infinitely better. In just about every way. And while I totally agree about the trash part, even that was much improved. At least that's a simple fix. Hopefully the weakness that @Gibspeed exposed can be fixed next year somehow. Even if not, still better.

I'm quite sure it will be completely fixed next year. Out of the 1k people total and 700+ in front of us, I think there were less than 20 that looped back for another allotment, so shouldn't be too hard to nip that. Also, it was only made possible because of the weird scenario where 900 people were there by 5 and then just nobody showed up after that, probably assuming they were too late.

Iron & Glass had a surprise bourbon county release this morning at 9am. At the moment they still have a small amount of midnight orange and bramble left. $24.99 each

I don't think the fact that people are able to go back in and double dip is something that needs to be addressed. They didn't cut in front of anyone. They didn't "take" beer away from anyone.

So this is gone, btw. 1,000 calorie beers not available, but 1,000 calorie personal pizzas were still flowing.

Even if someone did think those people are cutting or "taking" beer from anyone...it's such a small population that it most likely isn't worth any extra effort it would require.

I'd argue that the term "double dip" basically implies that someone "took" a second allotment from someone else. Now, if Binny's says "after the initial line people can go back in," that's fine. But if they're selling a "full" allotment per customer, the expectation is that that's what you're allowed to buy (or they'd let you buy more). I'm one of the people who doesn't think it's a huge deal, but like I said, I think it's slightly bad form in general.
Did they cut wristbands (or whatever the hell you got at LP) when you got your allotment? If not, I'd say they should do that. If so, I'd say they already did the due diligence I'd expect; you can't expect Binny's to be on the lookout for people in disguises and shit.

I mostly tend to stand on the side of "If you want a limited release product and you know what day and time it's being released you should show your ass up at that date/time"

    But I'm a jerk.

The only reference to wrist band was when they handed out tickets. They punched your ticket when you walked in the door and could care less about the wrist band. Did they even give a wrist band once the doors open, or just go straight to handing out tickets?

Honestly, I don't even disagree with that sentiment. But I'm personally also not on the side of speeding up the process at which others can't get beer. Then again, I will sometimes pass on a full allotment of things when I don't want them all, in the hopes that someone else will get them, and I understand that with trading, selling, etc., that's not a super common sentiment, so I get that it's a little idealistic.
Yeah, that explains it, if that's the case.

Not that my opinion counts for anything but I dont have a problem with looping.

This whole I got in line at 5 AM and got a ticket, then at 6 AM I go to the back in the line for a 2nd ticket and go back to my original spot get my bottles then get back in line again with my 2nd ticket is pretty shady in my opinion and I dont consider this looping, dunno what to call it really...

Yeah that's gaming the system. I don't like that.

It's called line cutting. It's just in a hidden form compared to the person who walks up to stand with his buddies who got there 45 minutes beforehand.

Like people have said, when a small number of people do it, it's not a big deal in the grand scheme. But that doesn't make it right either.

If there's anything I've learned from attending releases or reading about releases, it's that people are pretty damn good at finding a way to game the system, regardless of what type of release it is.

Yeah I agree. Tough call because people get out of line to use the pisser or grab a coffee in the middle of the night and no biggie to come back to your spot. BUT, I think you should only have one spot in any given line. Pick one. If you leave the line to get another spot (ticket), you should lose your first spot.
It's like the guy I saw at Costco going out the door multiple times with limit 1 variants. I assume he grabbed several at the bait pile and hid them in the store somewhere.
