Oh yeah - there has been bottling already happening for regular at least. We had friends see some of it happening last week but that is not unusual for this beer.

So it seems like the Midnight Orange is really a second Prop.

Would have been better to call that Prop, and the actual Prop something simpler like Double Chocolate. Prop is a lot less of a unique standout this year compared to years past.

I think prop could be fire....just my opinion. My question though is which of the 8 see distro? For sure base, wheatwine and coffee barleywine. What else? My guess is prop, vanilla and bramble all dont leave Chicagoland. Orange and reserve I'm unsure of. Thoughts from the group?

Any chance they still have plans to release the Neapolitan in some other form or fashion? Seems so odd that the label was created “just to throw the beer nerds off” or whatever. Especially considering coffee BCBS was one of those labels that’s not going to be released...

Well Prop for sure doesn't leave Chicago. Feel like that the only one that will be Chicagoland. Agree with your three for wide distro list. I think (hope) vanilla and bramble will go as well. Orange and reserve may not see huge distro?

It's a weird addition with the late notice. I wonder if they just made too much Prop for the local market and thus are adding orange to distro the rest or if there was a flaw in some of the Prop that they want to cover up with the bright flavor of orange.

All I want is for Vanilla and Bramble to be less than half as hard to trade for as VR currently is.

I feel like with the quantities made, there has to be as much being made as Northwoods. You don’t bring back these beers and then make them so hard to come by that everyone gets instarage.

But seriously. My dream would be to either be able to hunt down or trade for 4 of each Vanilla and Bramble, one to drink every 6-12 months for the next 2-4 years. That doesn’t seem crazy...I hope!

One of the brewers traveled to Mexico and had an orange mocha drink that he was blown away with. He brought that as inspiration for this variant.

reserve didn’t see a huge distro last year right, only ina. few locations? would be awesome to see that guy over here. i don’t see why everything but reserve and prop don’t see full distro honestly.

we get every variation except prop and reserve here in CA

Would be awesome if it also drove down some of the value of a VR. Wishful thinking, but maybe?

Feel like the opposite is true. People new to beer having the new Vanilla for the first time and enjoying it; now trying to chase down the one prior. Also, people wanting to do vertical type comparisons.

Demand for VR should at least remain the same, but suspect increased basis the above.

Backwards beer geek logic dictates new Vanilla will only push up the value of old.

Wishful thinking on VR value dropping. Firstly, not the same beer as Vanilla BCBS.. Secondly, rarity and vintage will remain.

Wasn't OG vanilla supposed to be better? I've only had Rye, wasn't blown away.

I have definitely read different flavor profiles, but not enough showing one is definitively better than the other. People get more mallow or “birthday cake” vanilla from OG, whereas those flavors are not the same with the rye barrels.

I preferred OG as GI vanilla was better than Inbev vanilla.
