This your guess with or without the chance to buy a vintage variant?

Hard to say. 8*25 = 200(I know they're not all $25, just ball-parking), + 1 vintage. Just averaging. I figure $250 is a solid estimate for the LP allotment.

I do. I'm not going. They priced me out.

Ah, the old "$20 for a DIPA 4-pack" argument, eh?

All jokes aside, I can't get up for it at that price, either. I'm not even sure it's that bad of a deal (bottle of a variant + small pours of all 8 beers + food for $110), but I also don't want to spend that if I'm also buying a shitload of BA bottles.

I'm paying for the convenience -- and the fact that I have a family dinner on Black Wednesday and won't be able to go to any of the shitshow tappings. Plus my usual failure to win the Prop Day lottery.

Yeah, I'm not knocking it, the timing just doesn't work well enough for me, that I can justify the expense.

I can't justify the expense when I'm going to be forking out $250-$350 on their beer that day/within a couple days.

Surprisingly sessions sold out almost instantly even with the price increase. Looks like I'm getting an early start to my day at the 9am session. I go because my wife enjoys trying all of the variants side by side without having to wait in lines at a bar. My concern other than price is I think I read the sessions are only an hour now? For the price we're paying I wish we had a little more time to relax and enjoy it. 8 samples in an hour may be rushing it.

If two tickets are going to set me back $220, I'm better off just going to Binnys and camping for a Black Friday allocation.

Lol, you don't want to pound the equivalent of a 750ml of 12+% beer in an hour?

They need a full hour to reset the room between sessions? Sounds odd.

My friend and I did it two years ago. They let us stay til about one hour 15, but wer'e definintely rushing us. That was six variants (the 4 BC variants from 2016, 2015 rare, and BA impervious), which seemed really hard to get down that fast. I think it was larger pours, though. But either way, if they're saying 8 pours in one hour, that seems really pushing it.

    Was a fun event though.

I enjoyed it in 2015; got to give a brewer some grief for that overly sweet Prop. (I still can't believe people preferred that to the '16 version.)

That was a crazy BF -- went up to Oddside for one of their chaotic unlimited tap room BA releases, then made it back in time for my session. Amusing in hindsight to think how much infected Oddside I traded for infected BC.:rolling_eyes::grimacing:

Ticket confirmation email says session is an hour and a half.

In for 9am. Think it’s my fourth or fifth time doing it. Always a great event.

Curious how many people whining about pricing dropped $400+ at DLD this year.

Yeah, but you take more beer home from DLD (and it's potentially a much longer event than this tasting is). Don't get me wrong, I'm not really trying to debate price here, but I tend to put a premium on take-home if it's an event like this (DLD is its own type of clusterfuck, though).
