Figured I'd make a thread like last year for this for all of us looking. No sightings or news yet, I've found, either on what we're getting in NYC or where it will be available. Anyone hear anything?

I haven't. Wasn't planning on buying any BCBS this year anyway because I've got bottles of 2017 & 2018 regular, 2018 Reserve and 2018 Wheatwine in my 'cellar'.

I’m so out the the loop on BCBS. So Cafe de Olla is essentially BCBCS + orange peel, bark and sugar?

BCBCS has only ever been the variant I’ve truly been interested in (#flashback to Eagle Provisions “mispricing” in 2013). But never to the extent of going to TH on Black Friday and def not if the above is accurate.

look forward to grabbing some reg further down the line though

I confuse. Is there not a straight up coffee variant this year?

If there isn't, AB InBev is doing a great job fucking up the K.I.S.S. model.

There has been no straight up coffee STOUT variant since 2017. 2018 just had the barleywine.

Its amazing, they now have a double barrell one (no adjuncts!) which is brewery only, by lottery, $55. Significantly more profit than 12 years ago when bottles (12 oz not 16 oz) were $5.99 at stores (including money to distributor and store)!

Any idea what Carmine's pricing looks like? I've always heard their pricers for BC were high (Top Hops is generally way too high). Maybe that's where I'll go this year.

Last year their regular bottles were $13 I think, with the variants being $20-28 and the reserve was around $30. If you want the cheapest prices on variants I’d suggest Whole Foods.

I will definitely buy some but at my leisure I think. We still have bottles of regular, vanilla, wheatwine and orange hanging around in the Hudson Valley, with some spots still hoping to get like 25 for vanilla (pass). I drank one a few days ago and it was good but not great, vanilla is still very prominent but kind of had a vanilla extract vibe. Orange is pretty faded at this point judging from
The last two bottles I had.

I’d like to try the rye and will pick up a few cafe de olla and mon Cheri when I see them, sound interesting enough.

They are also rereleasing last year's vanilla being that there is no vanilla this year and last year's reserve cheers

There hasn't been a chase for years. Fine if people want to line up this year but I still see every variant from last year sitting on shelves.

The one I never got to try and would still like to is the coffee barleywine, I haven’t seen that sitting anywhere - do tell!

    I’ll be honest.

Wheatwine was nothing special. A stronger Backwoods Bastard.

Bramble was way too sweet. Didn’t like it at all. It tastes like sour berry juice.

Vanilla was good but a shell of Vanilla Rye (yes, I know no rye).

I haven’t had orange since it was released but that was nothing special.

Best one is the regular stout. Easily. They got rid of the two best variants and replaced them with some gimmicky shit that’ll probably be worse than last years. The mexican hot chocolate one is the one I want and it’ll probably be impossible to find and expensive as shit.

    I'll also be honest.

This fine craft brewer said it best:

Any dollar you're giving to these guys (and you're giving a lot more nowadays with their price hikes) is not only a dollar you're taking away from your local, independent breweries—which you do best to support—but one which hurts them twice by strengthening their sharp-elbowed enemy.
