Yea I am a big fan of their store. I’m never in the city for their BCBS event but I frequent their shop whenever I’m in the Village.

On an off-topic note, Grey Dog across the street is awesome place for food and they have OH Green City on tap almost all the time. The BLT with fried tomatoes is awesome.

I truly appreciated your first post because it forced me to think more carefully, but everything in this one just willfully distorts me, my position, and the facts of the matter. It's also pretty mean-spirited.:frowning2:

But in the interest of promoting comity and returning this thread to its original topic, I'll pass you my figurative doobie, deem it water under the bridge, and refrain from further comment. We're all lovers here, right? Or we should be. You said so yourself.

This a hundred percent! While VR was one of the best beers I've ever had, I miss coffee so much more.

For the folks seriously missing BCBCS, just make or buy some quality cold brew and mix a small amount into regular BCBS. At this point it'll taste as good or better than you remember, and there's zero risk of infection.

@rozzom, it took more of the cold brew than I expected; think I ended up using between 4 and 6 ounces for the 16.9oz bottle. I didn't mind the loss of carbonation that entailed, but I suppose you could grab some nitro cold brew cans to mitigate that as well. And yeah, I usually make my own that's as strong as I can get it over a 24-hour steep.

@rozzom, you could also mess with some cold brew concentrate if you didn't want to dilute the beer as much. Haven't done any french-pressing combos myself, so have no idea if it works or is any good, but that's about as strong as you'll find pre-made coffee these days.

cool thanks guys will try. The one time I did it I used my stove top espresso and probably added 2oz of strong coffee to the beer. was good but just wasn’t a touch on the real thing

I wouldn't be surprised if they added coffee to it multiple ways -- cold brew post fermentation, some cracked beans during whirlpool, etc. -- which would make it damn hard to replicate using after-the-fact methods. Also, and this is getting ridiculous, but you might try using Intelligentsia coffee like they do -- the beans used in the 2017 BCBCS are available on the Intelligentsia website.

And I will ignore the mean spirited comment, as it is a case of pot calling kettle black. I understand you may think publicly disparaging companies isn't mean spirited, just as I think accurately portraying the actions of people isn't mean spirited. We are all beer lovers, even those of us who, like me, no longer are allowed to consume, and this will be my last word. Cheers!

we actually did this at a share over the summer and made it into a fun competition.

Everyone started with a 2018 KBS and did their own variant of it. Some used a french press while others just infused the beer overnight and used a cheese cloth to strain.

    From recollection we have:

    1. with dark roast local coffee beans
    2. with a local italian bakery coffee cake
    3. with toasted coconut
    4. with toasted fresh strawberries and blueberries
    5. with maple, coconut, dark chocolate, and dried pepper(basically mexican stout)

It was a fun little experiment for everyone to try. It ended up being a blind taste test and we had to rate everything from 1 to have and had someone pour that was ipartial

Anybody been to Whole Foods recently and seen if they've started advertising their Decemberly 10/20(?)% off beer sale? Tempted to grab a few regulars then on sale for some french press fuckery around the holidays.

On that same topic......any recommendations on a good, cheap french press?

Nassau Grocery in FIDI had yesterday when I was there along with all the other variants. I’m pretty sure I paid $32.99.
