Black Friday is when it is released.

But I have a hunch that you stumbled upon a mother load in New York and are testing the waters.

    Am I close?

It's not always convenient, but it's usually within your ability to obtain, with the difficulty in doing so dependent upon the time of year and your location.

picked two bottles up this evening, actually. Easy enough to come by in season...not proud to admit what I paid per bottle tonight.

But hey, I saw it, and, can't ever have enought BCBS...right? Especially when it's not often come by 6 months after release.

I always have a stash around got a run going back to 2012 right now. The rest I drank. Would love to have some 2009, IMO the best I've had from GI.

Not easy to find as it sells out in minutes on release day but look what I'm drinking now [IMG]

The standard version is not too difficult to find, much different story on the variants

Actually Goose Island just released a bunch more regular Bourbon County for Chicago craft beer week. I know you can get it around Chicago and I have found it readily available in central Illinois also,as I have picked up another case of it and could probably with a little effort pick up 1 or 2 more cases.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet. Whether or not this is hard to find depends on your location.

For example, I live in Metro Detroit, and its gone within a matter of minutes/hours on release day.

Other places in the country, it sits on shelves, for whatever reason.

I have no experience with New York, your home state, but I would go to the regional forums and ask/search.

BCBS is hard to find in a lot of areas but my experience is it is not easy to "trade up" for beer that is significantly more rare. You'd have to offer a large quantity that is nowhere near $4$ and you still might get crickets.

It's worth buying just to drink, though

We get so little here, I basically trade for most of what I get. Seems like it sits in NY and Ma, RI, year round, if it was $32 here it might sit a bit too, vs the $19.50. Bomb is on the shelf here and has been, and for $10 a bottle it can stay there, it's good, but it's not great, and not worth the money , IMO of course. The fact it still sits in volume says others agree too.

Prairie prices are ridiculous, aren't they? I typical buy a bottle or two of the limited releases. However, like you, I don't even sniff 8.50 Bomb that sits on shelves anymore. I'll just enjoy it on tap when I see it every now and then.

Ha, I wish Bomb sat on shelves here so I could snag a single bottle and try it. I guess nobody in Chicago seems to mind the jacked up price.

Pricing does affect availability. Bcbs prices are all all over the map last year it was under $19 a 4 pk, this year a tad over, some places $30 +. I'd suspect the states wher they're asking $32 a 4 pk you still might see some. Ya know if Bomb was a better beer I might bite, $10 is steep, for a fairly flat brew, MC IMO kills it.
