The last number is the time code the bottle went through the line.

I thought people were just joking about this to devalue the beer and now it seems to have some validity. What a damn shame.

Wasn't lucky enough to grab one of these yet. If I run into this problem when this beer graces me, I'll weigh in if any problems.

Not sure how to identify the batch #? But FWIW my infected bottled was labeled 17/Sep/15 1531.

1531 would be the number people are going by @Soneast

Appears anything south of 2000 or so has had some variation so far. Roughly from what I've seen and read

Just cracked open my first one dated 17/SEP/15 1416. Unfortunately, it's having some light tartness to it. It's like cranberry juice was poured into the beer. Not in a good way either. I'm going to email the brewery and see what they say.

2116 isn't bad. Feel like its not as thick as the precious bottle from same case.

I feel like I'm looking for an issue. Has a slight twang in finish but nothing I'd contribute to an infection. Didn't gush didn't foam. Poured normal and murky. Little to no head like normal.

Jury is still out I think as far as this batch/bottle number. I'd have to say- unlikely but it does have a tartness in finish.

Well I called the Goose line and the person was very nice and took down my information. My beer has reached room temperature now and it has no typical BCBCS qualities to it. Drinking completely like cherry/cranberry juice right now. The aroma seems ok for the most part, maybe a touch light on the coffee, but the flavor is completely wrong imo.

Edit: I've got one remaining bottle 17/Sep/15 1909. Will have to try it sooner than later.

WTF are you talking about. This beer hits the same time of year while we are all eating the same type of food.

Pure coffee deliciousness here! Still my favorite from this years lineup. Send your so-called infected bottles this way for proper disposal

Great to hear your experience is different than mine & others in this thread. Your data point = all data points. Yep.

It tastes exactly the same as it was on tap at FOBAB and another place. As previously mentioned every coffee roast carries different characteristics. Got a pound of this years roast from Intelligentsia and it carries the same notes as this bottle when brewing a cup. I can understand there may be issues which has led to the scarcity of BCBCS this year. Just assisting with a previous post that the time stamp of 2158 doesn't appear to have any issues. It's my only bottle so unfortunately nothing to compare it to other than the taps I've had.

And it doesn't have the same ingredients (coffee beans) as any of the years prior...

Yeah if there is any issue at all, it's clearly not affecting the entire release of BCBCS. I've had BCBCS of years' past and the bottle I had tonight is way off compared to the experience I've had with those. There were no coffee notes in the flavor here frankly. If your post was specifically aimed at the 2158 post, my bad. I thought it was more of a general comment. Cheers.

No offense taken, sorry to hear you had a bad bottle. What did Goose say they would do? If there is an issue one could look at CW's struggle with Peruvian Morning the past few years, which is thankfully fixed now. BCBCS is my fav every year from the BC lineup. 2010 and 2013 have been the standouts.
