So i did a quick search and didnt see anything. I am having my first bottle of BCBCS tonight. I have been saving it for the first fall-ish night so I can have a fire and enjoy it. I dont really get good beer like this so I want to make sure I enjoy it properly. What is the best temp to serve it at? Should I chill it for a bit? I've been waiting patiently for about 4 months to enjoy this so I want to do it right. Thanks guys!

I would try it both ways. Chill it and take a swig. Then let it warm up and drink the rest. Enjoy it-it's a good one.

Serv it at 45 degrees and let it warm to 55 to 60 as you slowly enjoy it, by doing this you will get to see different layers of flavors at the different temps

That was kind of what I was thinking. I'm not a huge bourbon stout guy but I'm trying to get myself to like them (which I know will destroy my beer budget. no one has to tell me that). I figure I'll throw it in the fridge an hour before I want to have it and then sip on it and let it warm.

It's a 2013 bottle so I'm hoping the coffee hasn't fallen off too much.

Just had one a few weeks back-was a coffee bomb to me. should be plenty left. Coffee seems to fade much slower with this beer than others to me.

That is good news. That's the flavor I'm really looking forward to. I sound like such an amateur. I've been really fortunate to have tried some of the best ipas but when it comes to stouts I've had like 3.

You're in for a treat. Last 2013 I had was perfect. I usually pour this style from fridge and let it sit or hold the snifter in my hand for 15 min before sipping. I'm jealous, enjoy.

I agree with starting it cold and letting it warm to room temp but 45 might be too low. That temp should be reserved for Bud Light, Coors, MGD, High Life, Bud Clamato Chelada etc etc.

I would drink something cheaper and easier to find if I was trying to like some th ing. God forbid you drain pour that bcbcs because you dont enjoy bba stouts.

I hear you on that. It's not that I dont like them...its that I just love ipas and prefer to drink those. But with cold weather coming and bonfire season, i would love to get into nice stouts I can sip on. Now as far as sours go, I feel the way you said. I had one of the best and traded it to someone I knew would appreciate it. Last thing I would want is to open it and go...oh that's it?

The fridge in my basement set all the way up chills beers to 48 degrees, all my stouts and porters go in there, perfect starting point IMHO. Enjoy that beer.

I am hung up on all these mexican chocolate stouts dropping. So nice to sip on with winter knocking on my door already. I hope you come to enjoy these styles as much as you love your ipa's.

Start at 45-50F and drink slowly, preferably from a snifter. It's rich enough that you can take a good 45 minutes enjoying it. I haven't had one recently but last year's was an absolute coffee bomb fresh, so I'm sure there's a good chunk of coffee flavor left.

Yep I think I'm going to put it in the fridge an hour or two before and start there and just let it warm up. Thanks to everyone for the responses! It will definitely be out of a snifter.

Yeah, best stout I've ever had and I can't think of another that is up there. Maybe regular BCBS. KBS was a good notch below this year, IMO. And I've only had 1 of each ever. Have 2 more BCBS aging.

Store in fridge. Remove and set on table 10 min before opening. Pour into a dry, clean snifter. Slowly savor. You've got a great beer there.

Perfect advice. Take it from a Bourbon County fan: let that glass last an hour and sip slowly!
