Bourbon County CT

Any barleywine make its way to new haven or fairfield county? Anyone seen or heard anything in regards to the vanilla?

 

Vanilla is apparently not yet in CT Distributors hands. It will come out in [very] limited quantities once the distributors allocate a small number of stores with bottles.

 

Had to get my Vanilla, Coffee and BW in Philly. Luckily was there for the holidays. It was 1 Vanilla, 2 Coffee, 2 BW and 4 pack. 9.00 per 12 oz bottle and 29 for the Vanilla. If you bought the whole allotment it was 10% off which helped me justify the costs.

 

Bev Max in Norwalk has 4 packs. Just got one for 28. Have to as up front. Didn't ask about limits - didn't want to be greedy.

 

At least I found a second 4 pk today for the same price you got yours for.

 

Went to Manchester W&L today, not really looking for BCBS, but they still have some. You just have to ask for it. Think it was $23. I passed on it, just because I need to cut my costs somewhere. No idea how much is left. They also had barleywine but were only selling singles of it, so I grabbed one for $6.

 

i talked to a guy at Harvest Wine in Hartford on saturday and he said that they had got one of the 3 cases of vanilla alotted to ALL of CT.

 

3 cases to CT? Sounds like BS

 

More than one distributor in CT that does Goose Island. I doubt HDI is getting much but it's gotta be more than 3.

 

Wise old dog in west Hartford just got their shipment of burbon county today. I grabbed another 4 pack off them when I went to grab a bottle of the barrel aged norwahl

I called harvest about vanilla rye today. They don't know when they are getting it, but it will be "hand delivered, not via truck with the rest of the deliveries by the distributor himself" lol sounded like a load of shit

 

I spoke with my salesman today. Vanilla is in a warehouse in NJ or NY don't know which that AB holds the stock in. Once the state gives approval for the sale of the vanilla it WILL be hand delivered just like the bcbs and bcbw was. This is all the info I have for now, just keep your finger crossed that we get any at all. (Did you see any of the bottles at harvest wine by the way, cause that guy if fos)

 

I talked to that guy who said the 3 cases too. what sucked was even a few big places got very limited stock - or none. so it will likely be a big pain to get. :/

 

I can vouch for some of the stock being hand delivered. Ran into a rep last Friday who was hand delivering logs and cases with his own car in the Middlebury Southbury area. Not all of the BC was delivered this way.

 

$12 Barleywine singles at Amity Hamden. Absolutely ridiculous.

 

Still four packs available at Bev Max in Norwalk. Got another one on my lunch break. He said he got 6 cases of BCS and 1 of BCBBW but that BW is all gone and that if gets Vanilla it wouldn't be much maybe a bottle or two.

Honestly he didn't seem very knowledgeable but did like having the power of folks having to ask him for it. They said they've been getting a lot of calls today.

No to thread hijack, but I figure that people in this forum will be able to help me out- I am heading to the in-laws for Xmas. They live in Suffield (northern CT). Are there any notable beer stores around there? I am really looking to find Ghandi Bot. Also, if anyone in the Suffield area is interested in an IP trade, I live in Philly where I can still (I think) find BCBS (4 limit), coffee and BW (each a 2 limit) for $10 a bottle. BM me.

 

Good luck finding Gandhi in cans. I normally just go to the brewery for a growler of Gandhi. Nebco does a great job keeping folks updated on what's on tap via Facebook.

 

The best beer store near Suffield would be Table & Vine in West Sprinfield, Ma.

 

$10 a bottle? No wonder it's still around. Probably also because they actually GOT Vanilla and Coffee
