I recently moved to New Haven from MA, so I was wondering what to expect for Bourbon County down this way. I'm expecting that it isn't good given the number of CT people I ran into at liquor stores in MA on Black Friday last year...

last 2 years CT distro'd it late, i wouldnt expect to see it in stores until 2016, if you see it at all. Most places around here (new haven county) wont put it on the shelf. But this year that could change.

Ya I didnt see it on the shelf until the spring, and only at small places that didn't sell it all with the secret handshake.

Not sure where these guys live in CT, it was everywhere Black Friday. Barleywine was a little delayed, and I never saw other variants. Just going to have to hop around and ask.

I think thats right i really cant remember to be honest.. i know for sure the variants did not hit until spring of 2016. Buddy of mine is beer manager at a shop in CT and he is only getting regular bcbs and coffee this year.

ct got no coffee bottles and very rare kegs so any bottles is a plus. vanilla did float around a bit but barely. some places didn't even get a case.

Agree that BCBS was everywhere on Black Friday last year. I thought Barleywine was too but, if not, very close behind. The variants were VERY sparse and noticeably later but I don't recall exactly when. Many places literally get a couple bottles of the variants (and I assume when that is the case hold them for a regular).

Last year I saw a lot of BCBS for a few days after Black Friday. I picked up a 4pack about a week later it was just in the cooler.

What's going on with the variants? I feel like Cherry Rye was plentiful in 2012 (is that correct?) and the BW was easy to get the first year. Was only able to reserve BCBS last year and it came on Black Friday.

AB-Invev owned GI in 2012... And yes the beers were easy to find. The issue is that the distribution expanded too much and it seems that GI can't really keep up with the varrients. I will say this that distribution in CT is solely based on the amount of GI product sold here and apparently we don't buy enough GI products. Oh well I am partially to blame because I don't buy other GI products (unless I'm at a bar where its that or other Inbev products).

CT Consumer Protection site shows that the Liquor Brand Label Registration is in place for:

GOOSE ISLAND BOURBON COUNTY BRAND REGAL RYE is effective from 10/14/2015.
GOOSE ISLAND RARE BOURBON COUNTY BRAND is effective from 10/07/2015.

Which I hope is a good sign that more variants will be available to CT this year.

This. Some shops had it the day after, but I never heard of it being delayed for over a month aside from vanilla rye (which was so limited and gouged that I didn't even bother). Honestly, I just want coffee to make it down here in bottles. Could care less about regal or rare.

Eh technically they registered a brand label for proprietors too.

Just re-quoting the numbers I found on the CT Liquor Control Website

From those numbers looks like CT is only getting Regular, Barley Wine and the Regal.

CT may again be screwed out of the Coffee variation
