Figured I would start this up again. Anyone know if MA will be seeing distro of all the variants?

I mean MA never see's prop. I assume Kappy's locations will have 6 bottles of Regal, each. And that people will wait in line and 99% of them won't get any.
Me? I'm going to the Stoddards event, that should be good enough.

I was told by someone who works for AB that the limited releases being sent to MA for Black Friday are Regal Rye, Coffee and Barleywine. I was shocked that Rare wasn't included.

For what retailers will charge for Rare 2.0, you might as well buy a bottle of bourbon instead.

Or just buy one of the many other excellent bourbon barrel aged stouts that sit dusty on shelves year-round.

MA is not getting any Rare this year, even with the new bottles sizes. Bummer.

On the upside we'll see coffee, regal rye and the barleywine so it's not too shabby either

Any suggestions for Metro West area? I'll be home for the holidays and would love to get bcbs, variants would be a huge bonus, however I'd prefer to spend time with family over standing in line. Obliviously with so many great Massachusetts breweries I will have plenty to drink, just would like to see what the hype is about with the bcbs. Thanks

Craft Beer Cellar(s) most likely as well as maybe Wegmans?

Honestly I wouldn't bother with CBC. They just started selling GI products this year - pretty much only so they could get in on the BCBS action. Knowing how they treat limited releases to they will likely make you stand in line - or show up at a certain time so they can raffle it off. Or even better, hold on to it for a year and "release it" for a special event.

This has been said before but I'll say it again- the best place to get Bourbon County is stores that sell a high volume of GI and Bud. The distributor rewards good sales with quantities of BCBS. Unfortunately that means the little guys - the ones you'd prefer to buy from - aren't going to have much... or any.

I'm not super familiar with Metro West but Julio's will definitely be getting some. Definitely Wegman's too but I'd be wary. I think last year someone walked off with a case of VR from the one in Burlington because they didn't know what they had and weren't imposing limits.

There's a special place in hell for beer geeks who pull that kind of shit off

500ml singles for everything. Pricing TBD. Appears to be an expected range of $10(reg)-$60+(rare). Variants somewhere in between.

I've heard directly from one store that they are getting a case of Rare. But I guess who really knows at this point?

16.9oz single bottles for everything. Regular will be around $12, coffee/barleywine $14-16, Regal Rye $20-25 and though it seems MA isn't getting any, if Rare is on the shelf, it'll be $60+.

Absolutely hilarious that craft beer cellar is carrying Goose Island now. They were so adamant in the beginning that Goose Island wasn't "craft" despite having other big brands on the shelf  The whole premise behind those stores was a painfully obvious marketing gimmick, glad to see it has now reached Emperor Wears No Clothes-level.

Wait, so regular BCBS is now in 500 mL bottles for $12?

Last year I was able to get it at $24/4 pack (or 48 ounces). And this year it'll be $24 for 34 ounces?!

I mean... Wegman's had it for $17 a 4 pack, if you want to really compare prices... If it's $12 a bottle for regular, its an substantial markup from the last year.

Yeah, looks like 2014 was my last year enjoying BCBS. So much for ABInbev doing us all a favor by increasing distribution and availability...
