Bourbon County in RI

Talked to a local shop owner yesterday and he said that he has no idea what they're getting yet. It could go one of two ways; they get their delivery early next week (Monday/Tuesday) or they have to go to the distributor themselves on Friday and pick up their allotment to bring to their store like they had to do back in 2013.

 

I've heard the same. My assumption is we will only get regular and barleywine but I certainly hope I'm wrong.

 

Coffee was draught only in Rhode Island. 2 years ago BCBCS was around in RI, but it was scarce. Also 2 years ago, Backyard Rye was also around in limited quantities. RI got shafted on Vanilla Rye last year so I'm not really sure what to expect. I'm assuming we'll just get the regular and barley because GI had no problem doing that last year.

 

Rhode Island has been going backwards every year it seems as the variants go. It was 3 years ago I was able to snag 12 coffee (bombers) and 12 Cherry Rye. Following year, 2 4 packs of coffee and 3 Backyard. Last year, ZIP! Thankfully the restaurant I work at had a keg of Coffee (that took 10 weeks to kick. Yeah you read that right.)

I'd like to believe this year will be different but the fact that nobody reliable has any clue is disheartening. My distributors told me the same thing, they don't know what they are getting yet. GREAT COMMUNICATION SKILLS INBEV!

 

Maybe it's just that in subsequent years, the person before you bought the 24 bombers. I looked for Cherry Rye and never got any in RI, I guess that makes sense if stores were selling it by the case

 

For the record, my hauls were split over multiple stores.

 

Carriage Inn and Saloon in North Kingstown. Hopefully we find out soon what we are getting. Our logs didn't arrive until first week of December though. I will definitely keep the thread updated so you fine folks can come and enjoy the spoils. My owner was a little annoyed that we had 5 taps (BCBS '13 and '14, BW '13 and '14 and BCBCS) that took a very long time to kick.

Any place in RI get it early?

 

Saw nothing between the several stops I made between Newport and North Kingstown. Finally grabbed the last 2014 BCBS 4-pack from a Warwick store instead. I'll be in Maine Black Friday and would rather spend my day in the Industrial cluster of Portland breweries rather than hunting through liquor stores!
