Has anyone heard anything yet for around Indy? I've not and it's getting closer. Variants or not, locations, etc.

Most of the big places usually don't announce anything until about two weeks before. I'd expect news to start trickling out this week.

Big Red announced their allotment on Facebook today. 1 each of regular, vanilla, midnight orange, BW coffee, bramble, wheat wine.

I'm a little worried about the low availability of regular this year, but stoked about the amount of variants compared to last year.

I'm not seeing anything on their FB or Twitter about an allotment. Is it in a comment on another post? Maybe they took it down?

Last year because of some distribution issues none of the stores north of 96th st. got any variants. I quickly figured this out and went south of 96th st. Hopefully that's not an issue again this year but I'm going to plan a worst case scenario plan.

If anyone in Indy wants to send me a DM to communicate findings I'm in. I'll be on the northside.

I'm north of Indy too. Be nice if I could find a closer release. And more than a limit of one on regular...
Let you know if I find anything out

SO, Uh, Big Red has changed their tune. Eventbrite says:

At 7am on Black Friday we will be releasing one of the largest allocations in the state for BCS

    • Goose Island Bourbon County Stout -1 bottle limit per customer of this, plus choose 1 bottle from the following variants:
    • Vanilla
    • Midnight Orange
    • Barleywine Coffee
    • Bramble Rye
    • Wheat Wine

    What in the holy fuck.

I just wonder why it doesn't say that on their Facebook, just the eventbrite page. But they sure made it bold enough on the eventbrite page that it wasn't on accident...

Look at the bright side...they could have waited to tell people on Black Friday morning that the allocations were changing.

...not that anyplace has ever done that sort of thing

Well Khans posted their info today. 3 regular + 2 of all variants except barleywine which is 1 pp. If you are really dedicated they are offering the first person in line a chance to purchase a 1/6 keg of BCBS.

What are the chances of showing up at Kahns when they open and still getting some? Not wanting to spend hours in line.

That's really difficult to say. Normally if you show up about an hour before I'd say a near 100% chance you'd get regular and a variant or two(but not all). This year is made difficult by the bizarre alotments stores seem to be getting. You'd expect allotments to increase or stay the same year over year, but that hasn't happened. Why is Big Red, one of the biggest stores in Indy, only alowing 1 reg and one variant? People aren't happy on their Facebook page and it's easy to imagine no one going there and instead heading to SoBro or Kahns. Then again on Kahns they halved their alotments of regular from previous years. Is that because they expect more people or just got less? Why does SoBro only allow 1 of each variant except for 3 bramble? Who can say at this point. Crown and Payless haven't made anything public from what I can find, so they are still a wildcard. With all of that being considered, it's tough to give you odds, but I'd say it's going to be pretty low if you are wanting all or most of the variants.

Thanks for replying. I love to get some variants but just not willing to stand in line for hours for them. Getting regular is usually pretty easy here in Lafayette but variants are hard to come by.

Also how do people found out about these out of the way liquor stores getting allotments? Last year I found out too late about a tiny store in a small town getting tons of variants.

The truth is a bit sad: spending a lot of time calling.

My first year that I got KBS, I thought that it was more limited than it can be, and thought I would have no chances of getting it. Part of this stems from the fact that i was also traveling the week of the release. it was getting released whenever I was gone. As a result I spent hours calling every place within about 2 hours of me (I am in a small town- smaller than Lafayette).

Kind of makes me feel like I need help and have an addiction.
