Don't know about Payless, but for Crown, very few stores will be selling the variants. IIRC, only like 3-4 cases of some of the variants were allocated for the entire chain (not per store). Crazy.

I was just at a Payless in Fishers. He said he’s already got their allocation and it’s only the regular.

Any places to get a draft pour in the city on Friday?

How’s it going out there? Anything to report?

Amazing how there’s no chatter in this thread for Indy but people in larger thread from Chicago are very busy with chatter.

I’m stuck at home babysitting so I’m screwed this year.

Actually a ton available. Kroger at Nora had no limit regular orange wheatwine. I went to two other places that had 1 or two pp for other variants. Pretty easy to get what you wanted today. Glad I didn't waste time going to khans and places like that.

Seemed like fewer people at Big Red than last year. Made it through the line twice in about an hour. Got there at about 5:00 and was probably 20th in line.

Happy hunting. Coffee BW and Vanilla seemed to be the most popular.

Had good luck at crown Carmel and other places around there. Got to try some samples. Coffee barleywine was surprisingly good and was the only one I whiffed on. Can't complain!

How many allotments didn't they have? Seemed tough to tell based on the size of each allotment being so small compared to last year. Last year they had probably at least 300.

If I had to guess, I'd say about 300 total again. Of course those further back in line probably didn't get their choice of variants. It definitely looked like they had more cases of vanilla than the other variants. Coffee BW appeared to be the fewest.

That means they got like half as much as last year. They definitely had a full set of allotments for like 300 people last year. Can't believe they got so much less this year. I wonder if they did not pool all the big Red stores this time?

Last year was 4x BCBS, 2x BW, BCBCS, Northwoods. Seems like similar total variants, although more variety, but 1/3 regular+BW.

I'm happier with more variants, considering you could still buy regular for weeks after BF last year.

I hear what you're saying, but technically that's 4x variant per allotment + more regular BCBS. They always allow looping. This year only 2 variants. So at 300ish allotments, that's still like twice as many cases of variants as in years past, and everyone was able to get the same thing.

I'm not trying to bitch. I didn't even make it out as my wife is incredibly sick. Just surprised. They are the largest liquor store in Indiana. If they pooled again, which I think they at least suggested, then it seems surprising that they had so few.

Pretty happy I was able to get one of each variant and 3 regulars without leaving Lafayette!

I wasn't considering BW as a variant, although I guess technically it is. I also should have said that I'm happier with more variety of variants this year, but perhaps the same total quantity (if you don't include BCBBW).

I got Regular, Midnight Orange and Bramble Rye in Lafayette. Would've been nice to grab Wheatwine or Vanilla but can't complain about only driving 5 minutes to get what I got.
