First-time attendee here. I was wondering if non ticket holders are allowed into the event. Are there DD tickets/passes? Is anyone allowed into the event, but only ticket holders can purchase/drink BCBS? Thanks for the help.

Will be going with my Brother who resides in the Edgewater neighborhood. I thought taking the Red line down and connecting to the Green line would be a fairly simple option.....thoughts? Would it be easier to Uber/Lift??

I've taken the green line from the loop to the fulton taphouse a few times and it is just fine. You will have at most a quarter mile walk from the train.

Best bet would be to just take Ashland bus. It’ll drop you off 2 blocks away.

It is pretty much always easier to Uber/Lyft than take public transportation. It's up to you whether you want to spend the extra $$ for the quicker ride. I wouldn't do a public transportation ride that involves connecting two different lines, but that's just my preference.

Does the Ashland bus go up to Edgewater, though??? I never have taken it up that far, but thought it ended around Irving Park.

Some of my most interesting human observations/interactions have taken place on the cta. Granted green/blue lines typically smell like piss, but that's part of the experience.

That's so true...like the time I got on the red line after work, looked down and there were drops of blood on the floor. Turns out someone got stabbed right there at the stop or two prior and they hadn't quite cleaned everything up...they cleared off the train and we had to wait for another one.

I generally don't do public transportation to non-work events because I'm usually running short on time because I'm trying to get the kids straightened out for a babysitter, or helping my wife get them fed or bathed or whatever. If you've got the time and don't mind a bit of an extra commute for the cheaper price, then public transportation is great.

I didn't have kids when I lived in Chicago so it worked great for my wife and I. But riding the El and bus is typically my kids favorite part of our trips there. Gets them out of the suburban bubble and they are always insanely polite and well behaved. I love it.

The handful of times I have taken the Redline from Downtown to Wrigley and back I have seen some interesting characters, most recently being two bums arguing about what the other person was actually going to do with the money they were panhandling for....ahahahah....but yea Uber/Lyft would be ideal, but not sure of the cost associated with those two points of reference.

There was some allusion to it in the other BC thread, but I am curious what to expect out of the event itself. Do people line up before noon aggressively? Do certain beers kick for the day? Are pours really kept to 3ozs? I've read they do mystery beers frequently and there are no tokens required for those. Thanks!

Damn... ok, so if my wife won the lottery, but we will both be going up for the event, what would you recommend I do while she's at Prop Day if I want to be nearby? Any good breweries or craft beer bars close to GI that will be open on Sunday? Thanks again!

OK, I'll bite: why is your wife not taking you as her guest?

You join her with the "Guest" ticket and you both get allotments...:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You know the other thing that really isnt clear (aside from the confusing check out process in buying tix)was you can bring 1 guest. If I didnt know from a few buddies that won in years past, I might have just assumed it winner only and no plus one.

When you win the lottery you can buy two tickets, one for the winner and a guest. Both tickets get entry into the event / tokens / ability to buy the full allotment.

Ashland bus doesn't begin that far north. It kicks off around Irving Park.

@ECOBOOSTINST , your easiest public transit bet would be taking the 50 - Damen bus. It's a straight shot down Damen and drops you off 2 blocks away from GI. The constant bus stops are annoying compared to trains but it's a much more direct route.

I'm a little south of Edgewater at Ashland/Lawrence and a Uber/Lyft to Fulton runs me at a minimum $20.

People will line up, but it’s unnecessary. There’s no drinking in line, and getting in early has zero advantage.

The mystery kegs will kick/rotate, but otherwise everything will be on all day. The point of the fest is to share BCS with the public. All variants will be on until last call.

Forbidden Root is a half mile away. Go there it’s fantastic. Grand Central Brewing is literally less than a block from Goose as well.

Dang, that's music to my ears, tastebuds, stomach, and general disdain of lines. Thank you sir!
