Bourbon County Prop Day 2018

Prop Day? More like Line Day, right?

 

They got the fire barrels out eh? Thought someone said they couldn't have them. Was wondering why they couldn't.

 

Two by the entrance of the tap room. Good for the ladies, I got bourbon county to keep me warm.

If you were in group one this is an amazing fest. No lines, no wait. Pick up bottles and then hit the BCBS variant lines with no wait. Two hours in, the lines stretch for miles so I can see how later groups are complaining. I was able to get 4 pours with no waits after getting my bottles. Vintage bottle option highly recommends as mentioned 14,16,17 confirmed. Didn’t see anyone with 15 or 13 yet. I also believe I saw two people who look like Jplachy. Book is free at bottle pick up and you can get it signed by brewers near vintage bottle pick up. Great fest yet again though I was underwhelmed by every BCBS variant save reserve and coffee. Reserve tastes like old school BCBS and regular tastes very InBev dumbed down. It was also 30 degrees out so who knows if these bloomed.

 

I’m pretty sure the mystery beer around 2pm was Vanilla Rye which was awesome. I wish the people giving the pours said what it was so you isn’t have to guess. The guy I was with said that the woman he got the pour from said that it was VR so thanks to her for telling us what it was

 

At open (noon) it was Prop 2014, around 2:10 pm it was Prop 2016. So maybe VR was before 2016?

 

Is it just me or has 16 prop been the mystery pour for 2 hours now

Only way to cycle through a ton of ‘16 Prop...make it a mystery pull. I chalked it up to price of admission, but I’m not necessarily excited

I raked leaves and cleaned my gutters today. And now I'm working. People need to stop bitching. I'd much rather be in a line in nice Nov weather, be 'cursed' with a '16 mystery Prop (and my wife), drinking mystery Prop, and photo bombing @Jplachy . No one who is at Prop Day right now has it rough.

Well. I’m home. It was cool but the line for beer was a bit much. Still have 2 tokens in my pocket. Let me know what you think of the book. Hope you like it.

 

You sir, have a valid complaint. I saw it twice and that was enough for me.

 

The mystery bottle was an optional purchase. No one was forced to purchase it. If one didn't want to risk getting something they might not end up liking, they could have skipped it (and the extra wait time associated with the 2nd line as well apparently).

 

Sorry I’ll only post happy thoughts from now on.
