Correct. I learned it was not worth the time after making that trip.

I didn't even know the Craft Beer Outlet had any. I just called them at like 8:45 and they said they had it and it was a 2 bottle limit. As someone else said there was a line at 6am for the variants. Not sure how this was communicated because I am on their mailing list and follow them on Facebook etc but didn't hear about it. I contemplated going to The Beer Store in Southampton but didn't think it was worth my time. Was happy to get the two bottles though. The Wegman's in Montgomeryville and Warrington sold out of everything by 8am or so.

Did anyone go to The Beer Store and how'd you do?

FYI, last time I was in Old Philly Ale House, they still had last year's BCBS available. I would imagine you could at least score some of the regular there, if not variants.

Same here, I am on the mailing list and they did not mention anything about a release on social media.

I guess its just one of those things where people in the know are going to wait hours before the store opens to get the variants.

They had at least 6 cases of regular when I was there on Friday morning. They have never done a limit with BCBS in the past so it might last a while. After tax, 2 bottles costs $20.

The Beer Store raffled Vanilla as far as I know.

I can't say what the South Hampton location did but I was at the Malvern location. Here's what they did:
First 52 in line get 3 bottles of regular BCBS.
First 22 in line get 1 bottle of Barleywine BCBS.
First 14 in line get 1 bottle of Coffee BCBS.

Anyone that was standing in line from the time the store opened at 10 am until 10:30 am when they close for the raffle will get a chance to get a bottle of Vanilla Rye that you have to pay for of course. There were 12 bottles of the Vanilla Rye. I decided to go to there on a whim at the last minute after I was already at the Malvern Wegmans since I wasn't able to get any of the variants. I thought that the line would definitely be wrapped around the shopping center but I when I got there around 8:30 am or so it wasn't and I was the 12th person in line. I did not win the drawing for Vanilla Rye though.

People should have scrapped the Foodery in Rox and gone to the ones after. Was at Foodery CC at 730am (opened at 9am) and was 14th in line. By 8am it was only around 25 or so.

Had multiple cases of Vanilla, tons of Coffee. They ended up having the Coffee last for hours.

They also had a shortage of glasses, but worked out better that way. Ended up getting a bottle opener made from the Bourbon County barrels numbered to 500.

I really wish I did not find this out..... I heard about the line at Rox and assumed the other locations would be no better and skipped Foodery entirely. Sad feels.

I was at Foodery CC. Took the uber to the city, got there at 8:45 for the 9:00 opening. I believe I was the 44th in line. Tried to go to the Foodery Rittenhouse after but was too late. I was 52 in that line.

That's a little better because Rittenhouse is where I was planning to go... though I'd have gotten there probably earlier than you did, but who knows if it would've landed me vanilla or just some of that terrible 'regular' stout.

I think I got to the Foodery Rittenhouse at 10:30 and yeah, it was too late by then.

I was able to hustle and score vanilla at 3/4 locations. Of course I got to Rox very early, which let me get to the Northern Liberties location by 9 and Rittenhouse by 1020ish.

Just a heads up. I was in my local beer distributor, Philadelphia beer company on York street in Fishtown, and they have one case of regular sitting on the floor for $150.

For those of you looking for singles of BCBS, also known as "regular" around these parts, they still had almost two cases worth at the Craft Beer Outlet in Northeast Philly last night. Call ahead though if you're planning on going. Limit was two per customer at $8.99 each.

Had some grub at Eulogy and they had regular and barley wine bottles available to drink there or to go...$10/per.

I'm still shaking my head that people went through this much trouble just because it's vanilla. You do realize that the much, much higher bottle count this go around means these won't be valuable like last time, right?

I'm shaking my head if you think all of us are only concerned with trading bottles. I bought mine for consumption and sharing. Looking forward to the tasting the higher bottle count and after-market trade value.

I did the same thing. I ended up with 2 bottles of Vanilla. They're going right into my mouth and the mouths of others.

Since I didn't say that, I'm not sure why you directed this post at me.

I'm also not sure that beers that are worth consuming and sharing can't be found without standing in lines for hours on end, but maybe I'm a bit touched in the head. Since this beer will be readily available at several Goose Island events next year, it's not like you have to stand in line to try it.

Next time I'll be sure to get your opinion before I wait in line for something I want. I wouldn't want to waste my time again buying all these worthless BCBS variants while smarter people like you sleep in. Thanks, bud!

Foodery at 10th and Pine still has plenty of BCBS and barley wine...though clearly no coffee or vanilla. I was just there 2 hours ago and there was plenty.
