I'm lucky enough to have a few extra bottles of this year's bourbon county and thought it would be fun to make cookies with it. I haven't baked with stout before so I'm hoping to get some feedback. Does anyone have a successful recipe using a BA stout? Will the baking temperature (350F) destroy the flavors of the stout?

I found a recipe online which calls for generic stout. Since bourbon county is thicker, sweeter, and higher in alcohol than the typical stout, should I make any adjustments?

    Full recipe:

    Ingredients:
    • 6 ounces stout
    • 1 stick butter, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups flour
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
    • 1 Tbsp black cocoa (or unsweetened cocoa)
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 Tbsp molasses
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1 egg
Thanks in advance for the advice.

You'd waste an expensive beer. I would just use Guiness, you could add a few tablespoons bourbon into the sugar and butter when you cream those ingredients together. Distilled booze gives flavors stronger than you would get from a barrel aged beer.

No adjustments are necessary if you do use the beer. The alcohol will burn off in the oven. Cook with booze it's more flavorful. You could even sub in one ounce of bourbon to 5 ounces beer, that'll kick em up.

Too many ingredients will cover up the stout.
There's a great marshmellow recipie online for bcbs
All you need is a candy thermometer n mixer.
They are really good Just use a big enough pot while reducing the beer with the sugar
