Last night a friend brought over a 2008 BCBS for us to drink. Looking at the bottle it seems like it may be the first year they produced it, can anyone verify this for me? Anyone else had this year recently?

BCBS has been made since the 90s and bottled since at least 2005 if not sooner. The 08s are supposed to be really great right now though..

Absolutely NOT the first year they made it. It is delicious though.

Thanks, we don't really have access to it here in Portland so we were both pretty clueless about it. The description on the label was making me think it could have been the first time they brewed it. I was pretty surprised that they put it in a twist top. The beer held up nicely though.

I think in 2005 there were a few hand bottles. In '06 there were limited real bottles. 2007 were pretty limited as well. 2008 was a solid distribution year, but many have been consumed at this point. Most who do verticals these days say 2008 is currently the best vintage, while the 2011 has a chnace of eclipsing it when it reaches that age. Enjoy!
