Does anyone know what variants TN will be allocated this year?

Any advice for potential stores in the Bristol/Kingsport area?

    Thanks!

The distributor serving the Tri-Cities only picked up the regular bcbs. I picked some up in Johnson City last week

Also Mellow Mushroom in JC had it on tap last year. Might want to check if they'll have it this year too.

Going to the ETSU basketball game tomorrow. What is the best place to grab a couple beers before and after?
Also, Riverside in Chatt only got the regular and barleywine and it is much bigger than any in JC area.

@browndogRVA. Plazza in Johnson city has normal not variants. I don't think they have a bottle limit.

@ryno23 I'm not usually near that area, I would say mushroom but that's not really that close. @rangerred may have some better places

Some good places in JC are Atlantic Ale House, Yee-Haw Brewing, and Johnson City Brewing Company. All are located downtown. Mellow Mushroom has a good variety as well.

For bottles, Libation Station has by far the largest low-gravity selection in the Tri-Cities. For high-gravity, check out Plaza Package (next door to Libation) and One Stop. One Stop does high-gravity growler fills if that interests you.

Went to One Stop today-lots of bcbs. nothing else I cant get in chatt really
Went to yeehaw and jc brewery. Yeehaw has a sweet set up. beers were ok. JC brewery was quaint to say the least but i liked their brown ale. going to atlantic ale house tomorrow before game.

PS: tons of homeless/drug addicts around the old downtown area. saw a drug deal as we were getting in my car. takes one to know one though i guess.

I went to Asheville and grabbed a rye and won a raffle for the chance to buy a rare. I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Really not sure 65 bucks is worth it but I'll find out.

I haven't had beers in jc in awhile. I usually just drive 30 to 45 minutes more to Asheville. I've heard yeehaw is nice, I need to go check it out. Kingsport has a few breweries now but nothing I've had is spectacular.

Should be a good basketball game, Etsu has a pretty good team this year. I'm going to try to catch a few games

Kingsport has a new beer store called The Beer Run. It's off of Eastman Road near Jersey Mike's. Not sure if they got BCBS but it is a nice store with a good selection. Kingsport has needed a good beer store.

Bad thing about kingsport and TN in general. BCBS is 13 or 14% depending on shipment and has to be sold in liquor stores. Laws as changing slowly but you are correct kingsport did need a good beer store. I need to check it out, I live 5 mins from it

The owner of Libation has big plans when the laws change. Expansion and more brands with the addition of high grav. We will finally have a true bottle shop in our area.

I don't live in JC anymore, but I always wondered why they didn't combine Libation and Plaza since the laws changed last year. Don't they have the same owner?

They do have the same owner. I've wondered that myself although I'm sure they have a reason. My guess is some of the features of Libation Station such as their cigar lounge and sale of homebrew supplies aren't compatible with the current liquor store laws. I know liquor stores can sell an expanded list of items now but there are still quite a few restrictions.

I don't know for sure but my guess is he wants to build the brand of Libation Station as a beer only store and not simply a beer section inside a package store. He said his plan all along has been to build a "true bottle shop" and the laws have prevented a lot of the high gravity stuff from being sold. When that changes I think we will see a large expansion of offerings in high gravity beers.
