Bourbon County thread (NJ PA NY)

The Shadyside Giant Eagle will be selling everything except for Rare tomorrow. It's very limited though. I heard only 1 case of Regal Rye and a few cases of the others. Heard some folks will be lining up at 6am or 7am to get tickets to purchase the beer at 10am. Not worth it IMHO. Also heard the Wexford Whole Foods got some but you have to be on the "list" to get any. And Atlas Bottle Works on Butler St. has some kind of raffle to get the opportunity to purchase BCBS and variants.

 

Anyone at tops hops yet? I'd love to know when the line starts this year

Sabatini's. Wegmans, the Weis stores will have it this year. Plaza Beverage will probably raffle off the chance to buy a case

 

it's about 50 deep at 1:30

 

About a 100 deep at 2:30. If you aren't here by 3/3:30, I wouldn't expect Rare.

Top hops line is on Ludlow now at 539. Came in at 7 last year and was still on orchard. Fuck this shit back to jersey for me

 

Yeah I would say top hops is past the 150 for sure

 

Somewhat surprised that, with their new ticketing system, they didn't think to get there early this morning once they saw people already lined up before midnight.

People are insane to be in line overnight for beer.

 

If it were something like 4 Elf I could see it. Just not that fun to tough out sitting for hours on a cold city street corner.

 

Yea its over 150 now. Unless a large amount of folks dont buy rare it's prob gone. Beginning of line was 8pm. Corner of Orchard & Broome was midnight. Im midway between Orchard & Ludlow & got here a lil after 2am. Ludlow & Bloome was 4am. Unsure of people further back. They handed out some keychains & promised snifters. No tix/wristbands yet. It wasnt so cold initially but temp dropped around dawn.

 

I agree, sorta. If you can't have a killer bottle share while waiting you are out of your mind. I can remember with great fondness waiting overnight with folks and drinking the best beer in the world while doing it. That was crazy in a good way.

How much is the foodery charging for rare and regal?

 

Just hoping Top Hops has an insane amout of regular so I can drive into the city before their taps open and pick some up.

 

Any sightings in midtown? I'm stuck w/ the fam doing touristy stuff all day.
