Had one at a tasting in January & it was still fantastic as ever. Our bottle, at least, was still holding onto the vanilla like a champ.

I think it got a lot better, so so good right now.

I only have 1 bottle left, and have no idea when i will drink it.

I had 2 within the last month and I would say it is at peak now and will take a decline within the next year counting from now. A lot less hotter now than when it was 1st released. The spice from the vanilla beans made it seem hotter when it was fresh. All of the flavors are still there only that they meld a lot better now. Drinking smooth with a little more on the edge of sweetness compared to the regular. If you are going to drink other beers with this one I recommend drinking this one first or at least on a clean palate.

Vanilla was perfect. Not too sweet, not boozy, very delicate and flavorful. We had every BCS variant since 2006 and I liked it second best overall, just marginally above -- or on par with -- the 2007 Pappy BCS

Had a vanilla about a month ago along with kh, coffee, and bramble (it was a good night) and thought it was drinking like a champ. definitely worth trying imo but as is apparent in this thread, to each their own.

I had some of the same bottle and thought the vanilla was quite strong. Granted I never had it fresh, but it was just about the perfect amount of vanilla for me. To each his own, though.

I thought the vanilla was overpowering when fresh and it was just too sweet, so it was arduous to have more than a few ounces. The recent bottle that I had was hands down better as things mellowed out. Definitely still sweeter than regular BCBS, but still a real treat. I'll be opening another one in the next month or two because I feel it's right where I want it to be.

Anyone that thinks vanilla fades with age should try a 2 or 3 year old victory at sea
    The vanilla gets stronger.
Bourbon county vanilla is awesome and worth trading for.

I still found a ton of Vanilla in my BCBVS. The other flavors balanced out the sweetness. I can see where to some it seems like less Vanilla but I think it is the lack of assertive sweetness more than anything.
