Bourbon GBS in DMV

    For those looking, Trader Joe's in Alexandria had three cases on the floor earlier this afternoon, $13 each.

    I was at the Trader Joes in Baileys Crossroads, VA around 9PM and they still had 2.5 cases. K-1 beer and wine in Arlington said they're getting it tomorrow. Whole Foods Clarendon said they're expecting it Wednesday. Shouldn't be too tough to find close to DC tomorrow.

    TJ's in Alexandria had 8 cases of it on the floor around 2pm. $13/bottle. No limit.

    I noticed some bottles had a black wire hoods around the cork and others a gold one. I wonder if that's different batches, or the more likely explanation of they just used whatever colored wire hoods they had on hand.

    The ones with the gold wires were aged in 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle Barrels.

    Nah I'm just messing around. There was a similar rumor about this year's BCBS because some of them have gold letters on the caps and some have white. I doubt the different cages are indicative of anything, especially for a small brewery like Hardywood.

    I'm pretty sure it's just a case of using what they had on hand, but the color different did make me do a double take. I got one of each so I'll do a comparison one day.
