Do most people throw out or add the bourbon used to soak the cubes?

I toss the whole thing in. Lessens learned on granted a sample size of one doing an oaked bourbon addition, but I found that both oak and bourbon faded a lot. I added 8 oz of bourbon with the oak, thinking I'd taste along the way, adding where needed and bottle when I liked the flavor. Well, I never added more and liked the flavor at about 2 weeks on the oak. Then it faded. Still may not have been a bad idea to be conservative, but food for thought.
