I am going to be in Bowling Green, KY this weekend. I did a place search on here and it looks like the Chuck's series of establishments are a must stop. But most reviews are old! Anyone have any other suggestions? I heard there was a Liquor Barn not far of I65, how is it?

Liquor Barn has not surprisingly hurt many of the local shops including Chucks, and consequently Chucks does not have quite the same selection (Or knowledgeable staff) as they used to. Wino's Depot certainly isn't what it used to be either, though it is certainly worth a stop. Other than that, Liquor Barn is your best bet.

There is a liquor barn in BG? Well damn I never knew that. Anyhow Chucks is terrible compared to what it was in it's glory days. Nothing special and out of date beers. Wino's didn't have anything special either. You can't get growler fills on most of the taps. Judging by those 2 places I think the selection in TN is better that KY these days. Never thought I would see that happen.

Well the trip was made and I certainly found more of interest at the Liquor Barn. Stopped at Chucks and didn't think much of it. I did come across a bottle of North Coast Old Stock Ale 2009 Reserve there, so I can't say it was a total loss stopping at Chucks.

Looks like I will be moving to Bowling Green this summer. Seems like Liquor Barn is the place to shop down there so just curious what kind of set up they got going? Do they offer singles (if so, only select stock available as singles or is everything available individually?) or does everything come only in traditional six packs/four packs?

They carry a mix of both. I am assuming you can break a pack as there is a singles wall with some of the same stuff they have in packs.

Speaking of North Coast Old Stock Ale 2009 Reserve......the other Chucks at Veterans Memorial had a 2012 Black Ops on the shelf. Came so close to buying it but ever since I found out they use champagne yeast I wasn't sure I would like it.
