One of my shipments says it should be delivered today but hasn't been scanned since Thursday. I know FedEx has had problems this week but all of my other shipments have been updated as normal. Is it time to be concerned that the package has gone missing? If it is missing how long do I wait before putting together a new box for my trade?
I would hold off a couple days. I had this happen about a month ago to a box that was supposed to be delivered on Saturday, wasn't, & nothing until it was suddenly delivered on Tuesday. With all those boxes coursing through the system it's inevitable that some scans get missed, & hopefully that's all it is!
Fed_Ex has had logistical problems this week as well as severe weather, Fed Home does not deliver on Monday's, Ground and Express does , if no scan at all is done on Tuesday morning give them a call.
Well the package has gone missing and FedEx is doing a trace but its not seeming promising as they were very interested in me describing what everything inside the box looked like (which I described them as collectable Coke bottles). How long do I wait to ship a replacement?
This has happened to me the last few times I've shipped FedEx since December: it'll show as leaving origin facility, then no scans, then it'll end up all updating at once and delivering a day late. Not sure what their deal is, but if I was your trade partner, I wouldn't mind giving it til the end of the week, or until I could get a response on the trace, whichever came first. I've been shipping UPS of late.
I had a box that was supposedly delivered by Fedex on late Thursday afternoon (3/10/16), came home and there was no box, just reviewed the security footage multiple times from various cameras and a spread of an hour each way of the delivered time and Fedex never showed up, we did however find a fedex van that zipped by a few minutes AFTER my box was scanned as delivered, but that's it, the car never stopped and no delivery was attempted.
It sounds like it was probably delivered to one of your neighbors by mistake. This is why I strongly prefer to require some sort of signature on delivery – costs a few bucks more, but can help track down a box when delivery goes awry.
I've been rerouting my packages to their facility. You sometimes have to wait an extra day, but it's greater security for making sure that things are accounted for.
