I wasn't clear, that's what I meant, to redirect after it was sent. I love this feature.

Thanks- I've seen that feature on the tracking page, but haven't tried it yet. It seems like anybody with a tracking number can redirect a box; I assume you then have to show id when you pick it up. Maybe I'll try that next time, instead of having it sent to work.

You don't have to redirect it, you can have it sent directly to the FedEx location with your name on it, just use their address instead of yours. The only downside is that it's a Business delivery so there's no Saturday delivery, one of the nice things about Residential when receiving a package from the East Coast.

I tried doing that once with a Fedex package that was unsuccessfully deliver to my house because it turned out it was marked "signature required" (which I did not know until is was on the truck and not delivered). I had the sender reroute the package to be held at local Fedex store, but the damn package stayed on the truck for 3 more days until I was finally home to receive it. Called Fedex each day, and they assured me each time I called that it would be pulled off truck every day and it never was. To avoid that debacle in the future, do you adjust the delivery to be held at Fedex right after package is delivered and before it makes it onto local truck for delivery?

I usually re-route to an FedEx office as soon as I get tracking information from my trading partner, so I can just forget about it until I get a phone call from my local FedEx office that my package has arrived and is ready to be picked up.

Someone posted that you can just have them send the package directly to your local FedEx office. I haven't tried that yet, since the re-directing has worked fine for me.

One time UPS delivered my package (big box of homebrew equipment) to a house on the wrong street. How on earth that happened I have no idea. The person came over 3 days later to let me know it was delivered there. Hopefully that is what happened.

Probably an inside job. I dropped a 12 bottle shipper off at FedEx and didn't ask for a receipt and sure enough there was no record of the box. I handed it to the manager and when he asked if I wanted a receipt I said no for some reason. Never again will I not watch them scan it in and give me the receipt. Warm place in hell for thieves

I live in an Apt, everything goes to the office and is signed for by the pretty ladies who work here. Only one incoming problem was a lousy pack job of some Head hunters and Columbus IPA's, and a few bottles were broken.

All good info on here. Definitely call the delivery co. (UPS, FedEx, etc.) and file the claim that it was stolen/not delivered, etc. I've had packages stolen off my porch after being delivered by both UPS and FedEx. FedEx took the issue seriously and sent the driver back out the next day to start an investigation. UPS just kept insisting that they had delivered it and we were not being truthful. FedEx made it right in 7 days, UPS took 2 months. That's in So Cal and YMMV where you're at with delivery companies.

In my neck of the woods, people follow the delivery trucks and wait for them to drop off packages. If it looks like no one's home, they snatch the box. This gets real bad during Xmas time and it got so bad last year that I installed an inexpensive security camera in the window that looks out over the front porch. It takes pics every second or two and stores them on a flash drive. Gives me 3 days of photos in case something happens and the camera itself is a pretty good deterrent. I also installed a "driveway alarm" on the porch so I would know when someone comes up on the porch. This after I was told by UPS that there is no policy requiring the delivery driver to ring the damn doorbell or knock to let you know a package has been dropped off.

    Good luck!
