Has anyone compiled a general box weighting guide? I don't have a scale and would rather print a UPS label before going to the store. I'm shipping 3 bombers in a styro box.

Just estimate. Some people say to put 1 lb. Others will say to put something reasonable. My drop-off location always weighs the stuff there and adjusts it, anyway.

The weight of the box doesn't tend to change the cost of shipping much at least for Fedex. The size of the box seems to be the deciding factor. so I tend to go a little over what I think it weighs.

    22 oz x 3 = 66 oz.

    66 oz divided by 16 oz = 4.125 lbs.

Glass bottles + packing materials = 3-4 lbs.

Write 8 lbs. UPS will make any adjustments.

    750ml is about 3 pounds.

    22oz is a little over 2 pounds.

    12oz is about 1.25 pounds.

Total ballpark, but good enough for estimation.

I generally just guestimate weight to the five pound mark. 3-5 bottles is usually 10 pounds, 6-9 bottles 15 pounds, and a case 20 pounds. FedEx rarely catches the actual weight. But since I ship at one of two places, if they do catch the weight, I don't want them to think I'm trying to cheat them. If they do, then I figure they'll always weight and could start to ask questions.

The UPS shop I use (although rarely) always weighs and updates the weight. So I tend to ship FedEx most of the time.

I just use my bathroom scale and its always pretty spot on. And I have never had any issues. Think I have a pretty chill store. It is run by a family of Indians and they never give me any trouble. They are all pretty priestly. I will continue to drop off at their location
