Headed to Bozeman/Big Sky for 5 days in Feb. Very excited to check out the beer scene there. Map, Mountain Walking and Nordic Brew Works on my hit list. Any other spots I should be checking out (In big sky maybe)

Anything on the food front I should be putting on the radar?

    Thank you in advance!

MAP, Mountains Walking, Bunkhouse, Bozeman Brewing are my usual spots. Shine beer sanctuary looks to have some good taps. Haven’t been up to big sky in a couple seasons so not to sure what’s up.

Bridger Brewing is also a really goo place too. 406 was always decent, but they have moved to manhattan. Madison River in Belgrade was always my jam, I grew up right down the street from them Belgrade is only 8 miles from Bozeman, FYI!

For food, Montana Ale Works in Bozeman has stellar food and a good local beer tap list, personally it's the best food in Bozeman. Breakfast place to hit up in Bozeman is the Western Cafe, if you like country fried steak. And for steak places, Sir Scott's Oasis in Manhattan is the best steak place, again, in my opinion! haha Madison River Pizza is always a solid pizza place, if you are into pizza.

Oh yeah, Beehive Basin in Big Sky is also a pretty solid brewery too!

Usually default to MAP when it comes to ordering beer at a restaurant or bar. You generally won’t be disappointed. Mountains Walking is probably the most “modern” brewery in the area. Beers are generally decent, had a few duds. Nordic has some of the most technically solid beers and their space is pretty cool. Kinda spendy for Bozeman standards but it’s on the way out of town from Bozeman to Big Sky. Good good.

For a fun “experience” I always recommend people hit up Stacey’s in Gallatin Gateway. It’s on the way from Bozeman/Airport to Big Sky. It’s a bit of a throwback space. Probably the closest thing you’ll find to a “cowboy bar” left in the Bozeman area. It’s got steakhouse attached to it that has some decent food. Just a cool old bar that’s out of the way and been around forever. Everyone’s nice as long as you’re not a douche.

In a Big Sky, Gallatin Riverhouse Grill has some great BBQ. The Cabin, up at the mountain is another great option. Sadly Lotus Pad has gone down hill severely. By Word of Mouth I’d usually pretty reliable.

Beehive Brewery is a really cool little spot run by a group of really nice people. It’s always packed with locals after a day on the hill. I tend to aim for the darker beers when I’m there.

Well isn't this thread rewarding. It's exactly why I came to visit the Mountain forum. Thanks for the recommendations! Be in the Bridger area in a few weeks!

Great weekend here in big sky..

First of all- we stopped in Bozeman for beer because we heard the prices and selection were better. Both of these things are true, but absolutely nuts imo to drive 11 hours and find the cheapest 6ers of Odell I’ve ever seen.

Overall consensus with the bachelor party is that MAP can do no wrong.. we only had strange cattle and Midas crush, but we’ve been finding it everywhere and they’re both equally amazing. Midas reminded me so much of superpower, which is obviously a big compliment.

Other hits were Bayern Dopplebock, Kettlehouse Smoke, and Powderhound from Big Sky.

I’ll add that I stopped in to Beehive Basin for a beer with a slice of pizza I got from the market across the parking lot.

It was a Pilsner iirc and it was delightful... not nearly as great as the brewery dog that sat and chilled with me though
