That's what I thought as well but evidently that's not enough, another guy wanted me to add $20 worth of beer on top of BASC and BT to get it done, and he wasn't going to add on his side. Bramble isn't worth that much to me.

Yeah, I think I have traded for Rare at close to that.

I had a few 2008 BCBS I traded a few HF beers for among other beers, and no way I'd pay that for a Rare. IMO your paying for the bottle and name right now, but that's only my opinion based off the 2008 BCBS. Right now a Rare is 5 years old, and it's time to start drinking them not hoarding them till they're dead. This from a guy who'd never seen or tasted a Rare, but from BA guys who have you can make a correlation. Funny 6 months to a year ago Bramble was a fruity over sweet hot mess.

I'm guessing the BT is around $40, BASC is $20, and another $20. That's $80 worth of beer. Sorry no, I would rather buy it straight up from * at that price, I'd never give the guy the satisfaction.

BT is $30, but that is still $70 in good beer. Unfortunately the price gougers at * are asking for $100 a bottle, which is even more crazy. The only positive with that is you get to keep your other delicious beer

If you haven't had Bramble I would try to convince yourself to wait. A similar will be released in 2 months. I personally didn't like Bramble as it didn't seem like a stout to me. Way too much of a fruit beer with a bit of stout added. I much prefer fruited stouts where they accent the beer and not dominate it... See Lindley Park. But I seem to be in the minority with regards to Bramble as there is a huge following.

I traded mine away for reasonable beers: Bramble and BA Kopi for Murda'd Out and Bramble & 09 BCS for 2 Beat. I thought both were fair.

Rare is only 4 yr old BTW. Still drinking excellent.

Bramble + Coffee for DDG was done easily for me.

Would not have traded Bramble for BASC...

Bramble wasn't very good a year ago. Wouldn't trade HT for another one.

cant say i know what Bramble was like fresh but the bottle I opened last week was definitely VERY jammy and SUPER sweet. Hardly any noticeable bourbon through all of that smuckers preserve

First time I had Bramble, I didn't think much of it. In April had some at a bottle share and it was awesome. It has definitely improved with age. I have another bottle I'm taking to a share on Sat.nlooking forward to see how it's changed.

Rare turns 5 yrs old in November. When it hit the shelves in 2010 it had already spent two years in the *magic* barrels.

Your argument is weak. Olde Rabbits Foot is pappy aged and from NC and you wouldn't get 1:1 with bramble today either (I'd also argue that ORF is and always has been more tasty than Bramble).

Sexual Chocolate and variants used to trade really high and be in huge demand and then the brewery explosion happened and there became more than just a dozen breweries doing annual brewery only RIS releases...and frankly Sexual Chocolate can't really hang with a lot of what's available in that category. I still think that BA SC is a vast improvement on regular SC (the first batch of BA was the first "5" i ever gave to a beer), but again, there are better out there these days.

Just because you went 1:1 with vanilla in the past doesn't mean it can happen again or something comparable. SC has proven that it doesn't age well whereas BCBS variants do great with 5 years on them. like all BCBS variants, they become increasingly more in demand as time goes by...with the exception of multiple release bottles like coffee and regular BCBS.

Sorry that BA SC doesn't command the hype that it used to out of the gate...maybe foothills should take a page from FFF book and breath some new life into the beer by doing small batch releases in various bottles and making a lotto for the right to spend $50 on a bottle? BA DLs command way more than they should and only 1/3 of the variants ever released were really worth it.

Blend a little BCBS'12 into Bramble. It brings it back to what it was a year ago. Soooo good.

I think they should also do variants and it will command more hype ex. vanilla, cherry.
