I live in Ohio. I dont stock up on beers so I dont have anything readily available to trade, just the ability to go shopping. I know there is a beer that I want to get from California, specifically the Black Tuesday from the Bruery.

I know they offer Trustee services to allow you to designate someone to pick up your beer for you if you dont live in California. My question is basically can I ask someone to be a trustee for me on this site, or do I specifically have to trade, and if I have to trade do I already have to have what someone wants or can I just state I have access to thing in Ohio, Indianan and Michigan and try to get something that someone else is looking for?

Just in case this might not be clear, I would be purchasing the beer from the Bruery, and would just need it shipped to me, so I was not sure if this was a place to ask for someone to do that as it does not sound like a trade, though I would be willing to trade, I would just need to know what someone wanted, that I could go and get.

Moved this to a better place where you'll get wider exposure.

you can only designate trustees for the societies and for the annual Black Tuesday sale in October. Otherwise it would likely be a goandpickitup situation.

If you join Preservation Society, you can buy additional bottles online and have them held for you trustee to pick up.

So since I am looking to buy Black Tuesday then I would be able to have a trustee correct?

If you either win the lottery and/or join PS and purchase Black Tuesday, then yes, you would need a trustee. I get my beer from the Bruery through a trustee as well.

They brewed more than ever before this year so your chances should be pretty good if you purchase when they sale starts.

They are coming out with more details tomorrow. Just keep an eye on the 2015 Reserve/Hoarders thread. Everything Bruery related is in there.

No clue. You can avoid the lottery by purchasing a PS membership for the quarter BT is released, avoiding the lottery variable altogether. It's not a bad deal as you're getting BT plus two other solid Bruery offerings.

Join the Preservation Society and get 3 beers (including Black Tuesday) for $60. Surely beats the lotto where you'll possibly get 1 Black Tuesday for $30

Thanks, I will keep that in mind, are you yourself looking to get some?

I have looked and have not seen where they say which beers I would get for the PS.

Q3 PS will receive: Oude Tart w/ Boysenberries, Ride That Goat (BA Imperial Weizenbock), and Arggghhhhhh (Imperial Pils brewed w/ Rice and Coconut).

Black Tuesday will probably be a Q4 PS release. So if you miss out on the lotto, you'll likely still have a shot at BT.

I looked into the RS and saw the beers, I thought about getting that subscription, but is it worth it if I am not local, and wont be able to enjoy the loacality perks? or is it something I can considering buy someone as a gift and making them my trustee for the beers and they get the other perks?

Yes it's worth it if you like Bruery beer. That being said, I don't think RS memberships will make it to the public this year, so you'd have to wait for a 2017 membership. I would suggest signing up for Preservation, and continue following the Bruery RS/HS Allocations thread to see if it would be worth it.

There are no perks for locals for preservation. You get three bottles of beer. That's it. Only hoarders and reserve get benefits at the bruery.
