The 167 probably refers to the 167th day of the year, June 16th.
    14 is the year.

The rest could be batch, lot, etc.

All of this is a guess.

Thanks. That code was on the Hundred Yard Dash I bought. I was thinking the same as @dougofthefuture, but since this is a fresh hop beer, bottling in June seems unlikely. @Chaz, your guess is more feasible for a fresh hop (bottled on Aug 10... although it really does look like 22S, not 225 on the stamp), but would they really put a "best by" date a year later for a fresh hop IPA?

Probably not! That string of digits is probably a code which they developed and is exclusive to their own operation. But bear in mind, also, that when it comes to Julian codes, I'm accustomed to filtering all such things through the 1 year* (packaging to pull-date) codes on imported brands from large(r)-scale, generically-European breweries.

*The "new" 9 month code for Pilsner Urquell really threw me for a loop. :grinning:
