Just found this one today and picked a couple up, anything aged in templeton whisky barrels is a +. does anyone know what kind of Bottle count there is on this ?

Whatever the bottle count, it far exceeds demand, been seeing it everywhere for months.

Bottle count was fairly high for a first release, but I am okay with it sitting around, it just means whenever I am in the mood I can pick it up, because it is a damn fine beer.

I thought this was a pretty tasty beer. Just a touch of sweetness compared to Rye-on-Rye, but still great rye profile and barrel comes out in this. I think this was about the first thing I've had from Brau Brothers. Anything else they do worth checking out, or is the regular lineup run of the mill?

Moo joos is pretty tasty. Havent had any of their other stuff in a long time. Wasn't a big fan of ring neck though. Rainwater was okay and sheephead is decent.

As herman77 said, Moo Joos. Their Bancreagie Scotch Ale is tasty too in my opinion.

Another vote for Moo Joos. I think most of their regular lineup is solid, but Moo Joos is fantastic.

I can't wait to pop my Rye Wyne(thanks Greg!)

Rye Wyne is a good beer but did not excite me as much as other reviewers (maybe a blend of Lunker and Rye Wyne would produce an epic brew). Not nearly as well executed as Rye-On-Rye.

I'd take Rye Wyn over Rye on Rye any day. I'm just not a fan of its voluminous carbonation as it makes it seem thin in the body. Their core lineup is good, particularly Moo Joos, though fresh Sheepshead is enjoyable as well. Ive liked all of their large bottle offerings so far. Rainwater was delicious. I'd like to see that one again.

IMHO think the Rye Wyne will be better with some age in it. I'm a big fan of the Bancreagie Scotch Ale as I like peaty scotches. Moo joos is also very good.

If you can find it, Elisha's Old Ale is fantastic. I like Sheepshead, but it is often overlooked by other IPA's.

According to the website they are coming out with a new beer, Hopsession, a hoppy session beer.
I'll be looking for it. I've also not yet had the Old no.56 yet either, so I need to pick up a new lawnmower beer too.

Oh yeah, Hopsession. Sounds like it falls directly into my wheelhouse for sure.

Your post got me thinking and I went back to my reviews and I opened my 2012 Rye-on-Rye. Just goes to show that I need to refresh my memory more often as I actually rated Rye Wyne a touch higher. I must of been thinking of BBQ or talking out my ass again. Had the same complaints with both rye beers as being too whiskey dominant. Rye Wyne is superior to 2012 Rye-on Rye but neither one would I consider a great beer.

I fully love the Whiskey flavor in the 2012 RoR. I'm a sucker for a great whiskey beer. I don't think it was too much, but again I could drink it all day. Add Rogue's John John to another great Whiskey beer. RoR did have more of that whiskey profile in both the nose and taste than what I thought RW had. Maybe the little sweetness on Rye Wyne balanced it out a bit more to make it more approachable, and not have that big whiskey profile right upfront.

I'd personally rate RoR a 4.5 out of 5, and the Rye Wyne a 4.

Rye on Rye just seems odd to me. It's massive carbonation bothers me. Sure I enjoy some highly carbed beers, Saison DuPont springs mind, but I feel it clashes with the whiskey. It doesn't work for me, but I'm just one guy with his own tastes. Blvd is fantastic, and I certainly respect them and their products, even if I don't always enjoy them.

Hopsession? My favorite style of beer...but I am a little leary on Brau Bros brewing it.

I did however really enjoy the Rye Wyne.

I've got two bottles, not sure when I'll open them. Seems like overall positive views on the brew though.
