Yeah, I used to think morning drinking meant alcoholism, too, and while that is probably partially true, alcoholism is based on how much you drink, not when. Now I feel no shame in the idea of having beer with breakfast.

When discussing beer w/ breakfast NO we aren't talking about having a beer on Monday mornings before work while watching the Today Show. No, beer w/ breakfast would be generally regulated to weekend brunches and the like.

Any beer works for me, as long as there is fatty meat smothered in fried vegetables and plenty of hot sauce.

If I had to choose a pairing, full breakfast with a marzen

Says you. One beer is not >1 beer. Plus, not everyone, probably less than you think, has a m-f 9-5 job. Some of us don't start work until afternoon some days.

OP here. Tried this finally. Eggs biscuits and sausage with sierra nevada celebration ale. Loved it! Not an every weekend thing but a good way to start a cold Saturday

I'm with pretty much everyone. A good coffee stout to sip on is great on a weekend morning when there is a noon kickoff. Now with "the game" (you buckeyes know what I'm talking about) on Saturday, it's my one day of the year my wife allows me to act like I'm in college again. Except now I replace the 7am natty and eggs with a 2012 Peche Mortel, some Odd Sides Morningwood, and a nice big breakfast of eggs and veggies, sausage, hash browns, and biscuits.
