Breakfast beer!

Sorry, I'm not emoticon savvy.

 

I has a Fort Point Pale Ale with my brunch omelette this morning. I rationalized that it looked pretty much like a mimosa. It paired pretty well, cutting the grease from the ham and cheese and substituting for my orange juice.
Full disclosure: I followed it with a cup of joe.

Having a "big beer" for breakfast doesn't impair my ability to drink or post the rest of the day - having what passes for a life off the internet does. In your court, @SMH_NWI

 

Touche. I was simply stating that when I typically check the WBYDN thread at night, I see morning posts from the same people almost daily and nothing later on. Simple observation. And I'm not talking sh*t either! I've had conversations, both private and in the forums, with many of them and they are all good people!

Hey, I look forward to the day when I can start my day out with a big RIS! I mean, I caaaannnn because I work for myself, but if I don't work, I don't make money - the old lady would be mad, plus we have a Vegas trip coming up in 2.5 weeks.

When I lived in Arizona we used to have a light Mexican lager like a Tecate or Mexicali to mix with Bloody Marys. It's basically a stronger version of a Michelada, which is a cheap AAL mixed with Clamato juice (tomato & clam juice). It's a local Mexican favorite. Football sundays start around 10AM over in AZ so it happened pretty much every Sunday. Good stuff and a great way to kill a slight hangover (hair of the do trick can work wonders sometimes). Don't knock it til you've tried it!

 

Absolutely I do. Whatever is in the fridge that strikes me at the time. Very impulsive in the morning am I.

 

I really only do it on vacation. This Christmas was the rare exception to this rule, but it only happened because my plans had to be moved back a week due to bad weather.

 

I'll have beer for lunch or dinner, but never breakfast. For personal reasons I don't drink before 11am.

 

No sweat. I also see that as well as many other people posting beer **** throughout the day. Makes me wonder what people do that allows them to drink on an all day schedule.

 

I had a Short's Cup A Joe coffee stout for breakfast one or two times during the Holidays. On weekends, I would often rather have a beer at 9am than 9pm. Beer in the evening makes me too sleepy.

 

I drink beer at any time, depending on the day's schedule. Never before going to work though! My favorite breakfast drink on days off is coffee, double jigger of cream and double jigger of bourbon. Then beer if the wife and I are cooking! Cheers

 

Weird!

They need to change that misleading name to something like the "unoriginal container or open original container" law.

On a weekend, 11am definitely counts as breakfast time for me.

 

Sunday brunch usually involves a stout or two for me (whatever is good on rotating taps), but not before a bloody mary or two.
GF and I love Sunday brunch
She makes fun of me because I have water, coffee, bloody mary going at same time, then add the beer in later - hardly any room at the table

 

I would gladly give up coffee and breakfast each and every day if I could have a Lagunitas High Westie Imperial Coffee Stout in exchange.

It would overall be cheaper, probably less calories and less ibuprofen..

I'm not sure my wife would be too happy, but she doesn't have too worry as I CANT GET ENOUGH $2 BOTTLES TO GET THROUGH EVEN 9 MONTHS OF THE YEAR (assuming I skipped summer months) !!

Yes of course - for Frühstück. White bier, white wurst. Maybe the original breakfast bier....

 

I tried this once on a day off before I made breakfast. Ended up really buzzed, burnt my toast, and fell asleep. Big beers in the morning just aren't for me I guess.

 

I have beer with breakfast all the time on the weekend. but it generally isn't at 6am or anything like that, ill sleep in a bit, maybe get a workout in. so I guess it would be more brunch time...pretty much anything simple works the best for me. palate isn't quite ready to be smashed. not sure why but a good hefe in the morning is great.

 

As much as I love beer, it just doesn't interest me in the morning. I see it as more of a winddown activity in the evening. "Coffee till 4, beer thereafter" is my philosophy.
