Not spice centric, but the coffee stout in Sierra Nevada's winter box is outstanding.

That was Sunday Brunch, right? That was basically my big push into breakfast stouts. I had had FBS and others, but that was incredible.

Definitely must try mokha.. almost a bit too breakfasty for me. Very strong coffee/chocolate. . Like I say.. just a bit too much for most but might be right up your alley.

Thought it was different but I suppose it's just a different alias for it. Kane describes Sunday Brunch as a Coffee stout w/ cinnamon and maple syrup vs Morning Bell which would be an imperial milk porter with coffee. Slightly different possibly?

Upon further research, I think you are right. I crave stuff like that!

Wasn't that impressed with The Poet, which just mysteriously turned up in Vermont last week. Maybe it is because Poet is going for $5 more a four pack then FBS is costing.

I thought Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout from Maumee Bay was amazing, still trying to get my hands on more.

they sell six packs of poet here for around the same price as FBS fourpacks,,which fbs is the KING of breakfast stouts hands down. But the poet is a great session oatmeal stout which has that similar mouth feel to I think.I drank 3 today and enjoyed them very much.

I second this. Total Eclipse is about as good as it gets in this style, better (in my opinion) than FBS and almost as good as Terrapin's Wake-n-Bake. And Total Eclipse is available year-round. BCBCS, of course, is in a league of its own….

I second the terrapin wake-n-bake. If you can get it, Terrapin's Cinnamon rolled w-n-b (last year) is great plus this years Moo-hoochiato and French toasted w-n-b.

I haven't had it for breakfast (only as a post dinner treat) but I think Lost Abbey Track 8 would be killer in the morning with a cinnamon roll or something similar. It's got so much complexity and depth with just the right amount of sweetness and spice.

In related news I need to get my hands on those new Terrapin variants!

Not exactly a breakfast stout, but Odell's Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout is a favorite of mine. Also Great Divide's Yeti series.

I'd take a Lugene for breakfast, lunch, dinner or any other time. I love that beer and can't wait until Feb when I can stock up again.
