So I was just washing my Delirium Tremens tulip glass and as I was thinking "I have had this glass for over 10 years", I immediately managed to drop it in the sink and break it.

It was a one of those special glasses I got when I first started getting into craft beer.

Now it's in the trash. :slight_frown:

    Got any sad breweriana stories?

that's the epitome of murphy's law. tough break man! Glasses have a mind of their own.

Personally, I had just got a Franziskaner weissbier glass and then the next day when I was going to use it; slipped from my hand. In effort to save it I extended my foot to break it's fall...instead it ended up being punted across the room and shattering against the wall. :grimacing:

I am clumsy so I have broken a good amount of glasses over the years, the only one that broke that I was really bummed about was my Founders 10th Anniversary Imperial Pint Glass, I don't think I am going to be able to replace that one.

Also I received a Portsmouth Brewing snifter in a trade, I was washing it to drink out of that night and it just shattered in my hands, so I never even got to use it once, lol.

I etched some flames onto a tulip glass using Armour Etch. It was the coolest glass I owned. I think I used it three times before dropping it in the sink. I keep meaning to make another.

In the middle of a tasting I broke my HotD stemmed taster glass. I was pissed for 1min until someone at the tasting said their friend lived right next to HotD and can get me another. The next week it was replaced and all was good in the world.

I pulled my Goose Island glass out of the dishwasher a little while ago...cracked! I broke a thin Newcastle pint glass last week that took me 2 hours to completely clean up. Including my GABF 2002 pint glass about two months ago (SHIT!), I cannot even begin to count how many are just shards at the dump. 99 cent glasses at Goodwill help ease the pain... The worst incident, however, was when l dropped one of my bottlecap display boards face down at the top of a staircase when l was moving and watched it slide all the way down, scratching many of the 465 caps on it. A tear or two may have been shed that fateful afternoon.

I break those, too. I should switch to stainless or laying down under a tap.

I've broken a few glasses in my time...
There was the pair that got kicked off my head by some fratboy crowd surfer at a concert... I had just gotten that pair a week before, too.
    Oh, wait, BEER glasses.
Usually the ones that break are the ones I don't have spares of. I have a dozen or more Sierra Nevada shaker pints, and never even chipped a single one of those.
Ones I've had that are harder or impossible to replace are the ones I break.
The pre-sellout Magic Hat, there was the Sherwood Forest one, the Sunset grill one...

Broke my cantillon tulip 3 days after getting it, was a huge bummer. Managed to replace it recently thanks to a very kind BA, but its my worst moment for glassware

I dropped and broke my Dogfish Head IPA glass a month or so ago. I recently replaced it with the Sierra Nevada one.

Just over a year ago I went to Marshall Wharf's 5th Year of Beer. The next day I dropped the full growler of Tug Pale Ale I brought home. I guess it could ave been worse, I could have dropped the growler of Sexy Chaos instead...

Got my replacement Delirium Tremens glass! Too bad shipping was more than the glass itself, but my beer glass shelf just seemed empty without it.

dropped the first snifter I ever had(gift from my gf, she found it at goodwill). it was this breckenridge snifter, not a fan of the beer but I loved the hop etching on it. used it for almost everything. beautiful glass and it will be missed:slight_frown:

Thankfully I have yet to break a beer glass, but then I started accruing a collection of them only 5-1/2 years ago.
Maybe I need to start using them more often.

I think half these ever made are broken. All I ever hear is about people breaking them.

I broke my Ghandi Bot tulip one night shaking out the water between beers. Sucks but I can snag another one from my friend in NH.

My wife's cat broke both of my Heady Topper glasses. They were the ones given out during the original 22oz bottle Heady release at the old brew pub.

I've broke 3 of those IPA glasses. 2 DFH etched..
Also recently lost a brandy snifter, 16 oz snifter, that was scored for .69 cents at goodwill. this one got knocked off the counter and the base sheered right off.
