Hi, Has there been any progress on Breckenridge's move out of Denver, and possibly out of Colorado, for an expanded replacement brewery? I haven't heard anything lately except for a rumor of a potential site in Arkansas, which seems odd and unlikely to me. Thanks, Roger
Was wondering about this the other day. This is the last thing I remember seeing: http://www.westword.com/2012-07-05/restaurants/craft-beer-legislation-in-colorado/ Hope they're not the next Flying Dog. They have the best Anniversary Party in the state.
I honestly don't know if I would notice if they left, other than the occasional chuckle when I see their terrible and overpriced "barrel aged" bombers collecting dust on shelves. Yea, I am still bitter about the 3 bottles of Holidale I bought.
I only bought it once but I thought their IIPA 371 was surprisingly really good. I also think their oatmeal stout is pretty decent and would be quite good if they would just give it some body. That said, I wont miss them if they leave.
While I'll readily admit I don't drink their stuff at home all that much - their beers make for nice food pairings. Not everything has to be about hundreds of IBUs or a constantly shifting flavor profile. For straight ahead beers with a defined flavor, their stuff isn't bad at all. Their seasonals and limiteds are surprisingly good and often overlooked. I'd certainly miss other breweries more, but I like having them around. 471's one of the best tasting rooms in town.
