Was a bottle of Brew Dog Paradox Speyside with a best before 06/06/09 beer brewed on that date in 2006? 3 years seems to be standard in my experience, but I don't know how you crazy Brits do.

Not sure but I've emailed them with this same question but for their Tokyo (providing just best before date) and they were more than happy to help.

Bigger high ABV beers do often have a three year BB date in the UK and Europe but the bottle you mentioned could not have been brewed in July 2006. BrewDog only stated brewing in 2007. The first ever batch of Paradox was actually brewed in Martin Dickie's garage in late 2006 but it was aged in an Islay barrel.

What you seem to be describing is likely to be a bottle of Paradox Speyside (Batch 005) which was brewed in 2007, bottled in 2008 and had a BB date of one year (06/06/09).
