Why? Seems really odd to drop such a mainstay...

IIRC they are calling it 1.0 and replacing it with version 2.0 as a new Pale Ale.

I think it's a cool idea to put it out there.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Stone Brewing to put the recipe out there for basement brewers. This will increase interest in craft brewing and Stone Brewing Company. Unique idea.

If I recall, Deschutes passed out recipes at an event here in Pittsburgh.

A number of breweries list ingredients, not all list quantities and times though. Deschutes has all the grain / hop bills for all of their beers.

I don't see a whole lot of homebrewers actually making this however - it looks like a million pale ale recipes on Brewtoad (<- not to be trusted as a recipe source) and judging by the recipe I can see why they want to spruce it up.

What?!? So now I have to start home brewing?!? Loved that beer. Maybe even love it enough to make 5 gallons of it.

Seriously, that's awesome that you're putting the recipe out there, Stone.

    Thank you

It was Stone's most mediocre beer, IMHO...and much better alternatives exist...eg. Dogtown and SN
