Brew pubs in Charleston Historic District

    What are the best places for beer in Charleston, preferably in the historic district? I'm mostly looking for porters, stouts and ipas. Thanks

    You'll likely need to get out of the tourist trap areas to get good beer.

    Best draft selection as well as bottles is The Griffon English Pub, on Vendue Lane right in the tourist district. Atmosphere is great too.

    Craftsmen taphouse and kitchen, Closed for Business on king street. Edmunds oast brewpub is worth a stop for its extensive draft list (40+ beers with around 5-10 made by them) and their bottle shop next door, Edmunds Oast exchange. Downtown isnt that big, you will be thankful you got out of the historic district.
