Anybody have any experience with these kettles or ordering from BrewhouseHardware.com? I'm tempted to go ahead and bite the bullet and upgrade my kettle now because they are on sale for 15% off with free shipping. Looking at the 15 gallon kettle. I've only done 5 gallon extract but I'm nearing the point of jumping to AG. 15 Gallon BrewBuilt Kettle Thanks, Tim
Looks solid. 4 welds to each handle is reassuring that it will take some abuse. I'd call and ask about a warranty. They say the stand behind their products, but what does that actually mean?
I was just looking at this kettle at Austin Homebrew. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/Beer/Sale/15-5-Gallon-Homebrew-Kettle-One-Weld.html#.VeUtXE2FNtY
I would check out Spike Brewing. Welded so you won't need orings. I love mine. Plus it looks to be slightly cheaper for my opinion a better kettle. http://spikebrewing.com/collections/10-gallon-stainless-kettles/products/10-gallon-brew-kettle-sight-glass
It looks like pretty much the exact same kettle as the Megapot from Northern Brewer. If you don't want the thermometer port the Megapot would be cheaper, even with shipping included.
If the price isn't a concern I'd get the brewbuilt. I use converted kegs and that lip makes them hell to clean. I cut mine down below the lip and left the handles sticking up and now i can dump and rinse them without it being hell.
I'm pretty sure it's the crew behind Keg Outlet & Brew PS, looks like they added a new branch to their family tree. If that is the case...pretty reputable. Co-worker got a 10g brewbuilt...he said he's got a minor complaints about the lid hanger...but overall is in love.
